"Are you really a doctor? Look what you've done?" a relative of a patient that you took care of shout at you.
You felt shock at her shout, but you couldn't do anything because you knew it was your fault.
"I'm so sorry," you said, bowing your head.
You felt empty. You thought everyone was against you. Everyone was mad and blaming you. You already knew that, even before, you were a failure, but you still tried your best to prove that, despite how they saw you, you could still do good things.
After your shift at the hospital, you gathered your things to go home. You were currently working at your relative's hospital. You were a doctor, just starting, but you didn't feel like one at all because of how fast everything had happened.
You graduated from medical school in just five years because your relative owned the university, and they allowed you to graduate that easily. When you started working at their hospital, you were promoted immediately due to your relative's request.
That's why if you failed, they would blame you right away. You wanted to start at the bottom to prove that you were good, but you just couldn't because of them.
"Argh! I want to go home!" you whispered, waiting for the taxi that would take you home.
You sat on a nearby seat and hugged the bag you were holding, watching for any passing vehicles. You bent down and thought again about what happened in the hospital earlier, feeling sad once more.
You looked up at the sky and stared at the stars. Suddenly, a smile crept onto your lips as you remembered your brother, who had left you years ago.
"Hey, brother, how are you?" you asked, still looking at the sky. "You know what? I miss you so much. It's so hard to live because you're not here anymore."
Your brother had died years ago while saving you, which was why you did your best to become a doctor. But you didn't expect to become one so quickly.
You still had no experience, which was why you kept failing.
As you gazed at the sky, you heard a man catching his breath nearby. When you looked in his direction, you saw a man staggering toward you, drenched in blood. Your eyes widened, and you quickly set your bag down on the seat before rushing to help him.
Before he could fall, you caught him and supported him so he wouldn't collapse.
"A-Are you okay?" you asked, worried.
He didn't answer, so you looked him over. He was wearing a blue-purple suit with a pink necktie that matched his hair color. His hair was in a mullet style, and you noticed a tattoo on his right forearm.
Your eyes drifted down to his stomach, where blood was pooling. You realized that he had lost a lot of blood, which was why he was so weak.
"I'll bring you to the hospital," you said.
He grabbed your hand to stop you from pulling him.
"Don't."
"W-Why? You need to go to the hospital. Can't you see you've lost too much blood?"
Finally, he looked at you, and you saw his face. The scars on both sides of his mouth caught your attention.
You blinked. "Y-You—"
"Don't bring me to the hospital."
You snapped out of your daze and shook your head, staring at him again.
"I'm a doctor. As a doctor, you must go to the hospital."
You heard him chuckle.
"This wounds of mine are not enough to kill me," he says and walks away from you.
