Some foods promote the production of "feel good" hormones, which in turn can enhance sexual desire, or sense of euphoria. For example, phenylethylamine, present in cocoa beans and chocolate, is the same hormone humans produce when they fall in love.
Aphrodisiacs can only work if it has an impact on either hormone production, nervous system, or blood circulation.
