Mari's surprised when she went in the office that March with her desk rearranged in the sense that people wouldn't see whatever on her desk when they passby. She's facing the hallway and would notice how many times that a certain enployee would have a break. That is if she cares. Then there's a blue divider on it from her front to her right so guys sitting at the right wouldn't see whatever she's doing. Only Evan can see her and she can see Evan's face emanating from that glass pane.
She's seems an official assistant by that arrangement!
"Damn, I don't want to see his constant playing with his chair!" She whined at Domy that morning in the pantry while having a bag of tea
"Position your big bag at your left so that you can't see him that much," Domy advised while chuckling
"What's wrong with seeing his face the whole day?" That's Paisely asking. The new accountant in exchange of Stef. The girl's too bubbly and instantly got a huge crush on Evan. Mari expected that anyway. "I would love to see his face in every chance I get. It would be my source of inspiration each day."
"Hold your horses," Domy joked. "You know nothing that much about the guy."
"What's wrong with our boss?"
"Let's just say…." Mari exhaled. "You better focus on work than wasting your time with the nosy guy"
Wednesday when she received an invitation regarding a certain women's month gathering at a famous ball at Brinson. It was forwarded by Evan and it seems like she's the only one who will go there
The moment the guy's buttcheeks sat on his chair, she peeked her head in his office. "Can we talk?"
"We already talking," Evan replied grinning
She sighed and went inside anyway, "I saw that invitation about Women's Month. Was that for all women here?"
"No, it's for you alone," Evan replied while he's opening his laptop and focused his eyes on there. "It's about women who made a great impact at the various industries. I want you to be there to explore, to see clients"
"Could you…."
"No," he cut
She lifted her brow, "You don't know what I'm gonna say"
"You want me to come," Evan confidently said
"Yeah, how about you go there and find some chicks to go with?"
Evan lifted his head at last to stare at her, "You don't want to go there?"
"I'm…. Ahm, I don't like parties?" She replied wincing
He stared at her for a while then looked down at his laptop again while shaking his head, "Nope"
"Why not?"
"Because it's for women!" He snapped. "What do you need so that you can attend that?"
"Ahmmm," she stared at the ceiling. "Well it's stated come in formal dress. I'm not gonna buy cocktail dress which I'm gonna use just once"
Evan snorted, "if I texted a friend to take you to a avant garde thing will you be attending?"
"I repeat, I don't want to buy. Thank you very much," she replied
"You don't need to buy, there's stylist who can let you borrow their what they call creation," Evan said
"I'm not a movie star and…. " she made a wide eye, "Wait a minute, is this like super big thing with a lot of golden girls coming from the privileged part of society?"
