Sora listens as her mom shoots off instructions, teaching her how to successfully fight back against the zombies wirh nunchucks. Sophia and Carl watch them in awe with Morales and Miranda's kids while Carol fusses over Ed, trying and hoping he doesn't beat her when he heals for what Shane did to him. Even if he deserved it.
They practice some before they go to sit in the shade because it's super hot out.
"Mom, can I tell you something?" Sora asks.
"Anything, love," Arden replies.
"I have a crush."
"You're first crush?" Arden gasps. "Really? Who is he?"
"She," Sora corrects.
"Ooh!" Arden raises an eyebrow. "Who is she?"
"Sophia," Sora replies.
"Does she like you back?" Arden asks her daughter.
"I... don't know," Sora replies.
Sora knows that she's only ten, but she knows she likes Sophia. Sora turns eleven in a few weeks.
"Ask her," Arden replies. "Want me to talk to Carol?"
"Will you?" Sora asks. "I'll talk to Sophia."
"Carol!" Arden walks cover to her. "We need to talk. It's about Sora and Sophia."
"Are they okay?"
"They're fine. Alive and healthy," Arden replies. "But Sora has found her first crush. It's Sophia."
Carol's face lights up and she quickly looks around to be sure Ed is nowhere close and she hugs Arden. "They'd be so sweet as girlfriends, right?"
"Yes, they would," Arden agrees. "Sora said she would talk to Sophia."
Carol and Arden look across camp and see Sophia hugging Sora with a smile.
"I take that as a good sign," Carol says and Arden chuckles in agreement.
Carol and Arden talk some more about Sophia and Sora since Ed is laid up in the Pelletier tent with a swollen face. While they talk, Sophia and Sora are joined by Carl and Morales' kids, and the adults are joined by Lori. Andrea and Amy soon come with some fish. They start talking about fishing and Carl wanting to learn, the same with Arden.
"I, Uh- I don't want to alarm anyone, but we may have a bit of a problem."
As the group goes to where Jim is, the kids stay near the sword wielding Korean woman, Amy, Carol, and Lori while Shane, Dale, and Morales approach Jim.
"Hey, Jim," Shane speaks up first.
Jim doesn't respond. Instead, he ignores Shane and he continues digging.
"Jim, why don't you hold up, all right?" Shane asks. "Just give me a second hwre, please."
Jim drives the shovel into the ground before he turns toward Shane with some much attitude, it reminds Arden of her daughter's father when he was throwing one if his tantrums.
"What do you want?" Jim asks.
"We're just a little concerned, that's all," Shane says.
"Dale says you've even out here for hours," Morales claims.
"So?"
"So... why are you digging?" Shane asks. "Are you headed to China, Jim?"
"What does it matter?" Jim asks. "I'm not hurting anyone."
