Chapter 6: Learn and Fight

I looked at him confused, why does he want me to join him? Maybe I could get actual food and clothes and a new bag. Then I can head out and start working for the underworld to find more info on demons, maybe?

"... Question: Do I get paid for slaying demons?" I asked and he started to laugh. Then he started to nod.

"That's right, if you join me I can help you join the demon slayer corps and you might be able to get information you want!" Dame, he really got me on the ropes. It's best to agree, even the moon is telling me to join.

"Sure, I'll join"

"Awesome, my name is Kawasaki Naoto"

"Aren't they just first names? And you told me already"

"Hey! That's what I was given! Wait I did, oh well who cares!"

I ignored him and put my sword in my bag that has tons of holes. Then I looked at him to get up, it took a couple of seconds for him to get up. Then he started to cough up blood and about to fall over; but I was able to catch him and put his arm over my shoulder.

"So... Where to?"

"Just *Cough* follow my lead" So I did, then we ended up at an inn. Then we ended up getting tons of looks, we were lucky that no one called the cops. Then I pulled out 2 futons and laid Naoto on one of them and then I laid on the other one. Instantly I fell asleep, forgetting about my high ponytail. This feeling is something I don't want to ever forget, in my life.

The next day, Naoto was able to recover and was able to stand up by himself. So I got new clothes, a new bag, and food; it was really good to eat normal food again. I also got a haircut of my long hair now reaching to my waist with a high ponytail. On the road, he started to teach me about the demon slayers.

"Alright, now do you know how to kill demons?"

"Other than a sword that cuts them through their neck"

"Well.. you're not wrong, but the sword that you are using is a nichirin sword; which is made from ore soaked in the sunlight"

"Is that so... I guess the sword is a lot more special than I thought; so is there anyway else to kill a demon?" I look at him expectantly

"Yes, the sun"

"So, that's why I don't see them during the day!"

"Wait, how did you not know this, who taught you how to fight" he asked

"I taught myself from a book and then I refine my way of fighting thanks to a nice man"

He had a shocked face, this was the first time he heard someone able to do breathing technique without a mentor and dual wield with his scabbard and katana. He knows he was a genius of a million years. After that, I was taught the basics of the ranks and how I need to take the Final selection. Which is in 4 months and I should be 14 by then, so I can train a lot more if I can?

We've been traveling for about a week now and we made a short cut. To a special place, because he started to look pale and the special palace was the Wisteria Family. It was nighttime and for some reason they're only open for demons slayers at night.

Right now I have a feeling of being watched, I use my spirit eye and notice a demon coming right at us. I noticed he's really strong, unlike most demons I felt a little scared. I pushed Naoto and got into my fighting stance.

"I knew you were strong, Akaza told me fighting strong opponents is so much fun!" He started and stood a few meters away from me. I look at his eyes and notice 'upper six'. His appearance is very muscular, lots of bird markings on him, green eyes, and pink hair.
