You always knew something was up at Jj's household, but you didn't want to think too much about it.
You & Jj had just became friends about 2 years ago & you guys just started dating recently.
But you would notice a couple bruises & cuts on his face, that he would never mention.
Jj called you up saying he wanted to talk.
You were kind of nervous, not knowing what he wanted to say.
You pulled up to his house , walking up to the porch & inside.
"Jay?" you call out
"In my room!" he calls back
You walk in & saw him sitting on the bed with his feet on the floor, looking at his hands. He looks up at you & gave a quick smile.
You smiled back & sat criss cross next to him.
"You wanted to talk?" you said nervously
He situated himself so that he was criss cross as well, facing you. He grabbed your hand & held it.
He took. a deep breathe.
"Y/n theres something ive been keeping from you & its just because i didn't know how to tell you & didn't want you to say it" he says
"its okay babe, i wont judge you. You can tell me anything" you reply
You saw a slight tear fall from his eye but he wiped it away quickly so you wouldn't see.
"umm well, my dad. He abuses me. & thats why i always have cuts & bruises. Thats why im always fighting, drinking, smoking. Its my way of coping with the pain." he rants
"Jj im so so sorry" You say as your eyes start to water
"why are you sorry? its not your fault"
He asks placing a hand on your cheek.
"Im sorry for not saying something sooner. I knew something was happening, but i- i didn't know what was & if it was me you would've noticed & done something so much sooner & im sorry for being a terrible girlfriend &-"
"Y/N!" he says cutting you off
He grabs your chin making you look him in the eyes.
"its not your fault. Ive been dealing with this for years. If anything your helping me deal with this, you make me 100x happier just seeing your smile or just being with you."
There was a moment of silence.
"I love you y/n" he says
You were shocked to hear that, you guys haven't said it yet.
You lips turn into a smile.
"I love you too Jj, i will continue to help you & make you happy"
He smiles back, leaning in for a kiss.
You guys pull away & you pull him back in for a hug, holding each other tightly.
"Me & you forever?" he asks looking up at you
