"YOU WANNA DO A push-up contest? Let's go right now!"
Miguel blinked as Jules dropped down to her knees, cracking her knuckles and rolling her shoulders. "What are you waiting for?"
So much had happened over the past few days that Jules could hardly keep it in check. For one, Miguel was now allowed to do karate again. And since apparently Shira trusts Carmen, she let Jules re-join as well. The girl didn't really know why she was so excited, but she practically ran to the dojo as soon as she was given the go-ahead.
Now her competitive streak was getting the better of her.
Miguel blinked once as Jules shot him another challenging glare. "What? You scared?"
The boy scoffed, "No I'm not scared."
"I am," Johnny teased, shooting Jules a perplexed look as she rose to her feet, brushing off her knees. Jules rolled her eyes.
"I know that you're a part time yoga instructor now, old man, but don't act like you don't love a good old fashioned push up contest."
Johnny's eyebrows shot up on his head, "okay, then. Diaz, show her what you got."
"What?" Miguel scrunched up his nose as Jules clapped her hands together with partially contained excitement. "I thought we were supposed to be doing karate!"
"Yeah, haven't you ever heard of the phrase 'to be good at karate, you have to kick ass at push-ups?"
Miguel's eyebrows furrowed. "No..."
"That's because I just made it up. Now go."
"All I said was that I might be able to do more than her!"
"That was a personal challenge, Diaz, and I will not stand for it."
Before any interesting competition could commence, there was a jingle as the door of the dojo was opened, and Jules's attention was diverted. Standing in the doorway was the last person that Jules would ever expect to see at a karate dojo... well, behind Demetri. A grin tugged at her lips as she grabbed onto Miguel's arm to make sure he saw.
Johnny shook his head, "sorry, no yogo 'til three... no matter how bad you need it."
As Jules rolled her eyes, Aisha took a step forward, seeming to relax slightly at the grin that the Monroe girl sent her. "Um, I'm actually here for karate." She squared her shoulders slightly, "I saw your website. It said that there was supposed to be a lesson today."
Johnny didn't even hesitate, "I appreciate you coming in, but there are no girls in Cobra Kai."
"You've got to be kidding me," Jules pinched the bridge of her nose, her ponytail slipping over her shoulder as she tried to comprehend just how much of a bigot Johnny Lawrence was. She could feel Aisha looking at her when she responded.
