Chapter 4 - "I hit bullseye"

I spun back around at the sound of a throat clearing and felt embarrassed to face Jace knowing that I had let my guard down in front of a guy like Dave.

That's when Dave looked up from staring at me with a hint of annoyance visible on his face.

I stood in between the two guys as they glared at each other. It felt like they were sending each other unknown signals just through their eyes. I could almost touch the tension in the air. 

"Ummm... so you guys besties yet?" I try with a grin but I'm stopped short when both boys stop their stare down and turn to give me a glare. I gulp before I get cascaded by a jumble of hair and arms. 

"Ana!!!! Dude seriously are you okay? Why are you in such a hurry?" I look down into her hazel eyes and her honey brown as it flies in a mess before landing again on her back.

Ana is short for Anastasia and she's been my bestie since kindergarten literally, ever since she stood up for me when I was picked on for being rich, we were inseparable. 

And here she was in my arms panting from her run.

Ana was always the composed and organized one, she was the one that always knew what was next on my schedule and what the next assignment due was, she was the one that kept me on track with life basically. And to see her sweating and jumbled in my arms was a shocking sight. 

"Oh...pant...My... pant...God...you have to see the new kid!! He's so freaking..." she was cut off by someone next to me clearing his throat.

Oh no, I mentally cursed at myself realising that the 'new kid' was right next to me. 

"Umm... Ana so this is Dave the new kid yea... and Dave this is Ana... oh and Dave this is Jace..." I introduced them trying to keep the awkwardness out of the air but it was seriously impossible.

I looked at Ana's face to see her gawking mindlessly at Dave. Argh her jaw was going to hit the ground soon I thought to myself embarrassed. 

"I happen to be Dave the new kid." 

The words new kid rolled off his tongue in distaste but he hid it quickly with a deep chuckle that erupted from his throat. I hid a smirk as I eyed him, he was good.

I felt a sharp pain in my arm and I realised I was being dragged across the corridor and pushed into a corner before I could stop myself and realise what was happening.

I looked into Ana's narrowing eyes before erupting into a fit of laughter.

"YOU COULD HAVE TOLD ME HE WAS RIGHT INFRONT OF ME!!!" she crossed her arms in front of her chests to make her stance look menacing and scary but it wasn't working.

I started again into my fit of giggles, she was just so cute when she got mad you couldn't help but not feel threatened. Ana was too nice for her own good.

"I'm so sorry but that was just your face was oh my gosh hahahaha," Ana didn't like being embarrassed it just didn't work for her, and this was probably one of the worst case scenarios she was always so scared of happening.

But I could only smirk because I knew why she was getting so worked up. 

"You were about to call Dave hot."

"No I wasn't."

"Yes, you totally were."

"I'm serious I wasn't!"

I could only fall back into laughter clutching my stomach at her response. Her stubbornness was clear through her pouted lips and pleading eyes. I narrowed my eyes at her, this was going to get serious.

"Tell me the truth Ana, you were going to call Dave hot and Jace was there. That's why you're freaking out isn't it." 

Her already big eyes became as big as saucers and her jaw did the nearly dropping onto the floor thing again which made me smirk. 

I had hit the bullseye. 

It was pretty obvious Ana and Jace had a thing for each other, they were just too shy to admit it. Jace was too considerate always being a gentleman and he thinks Ana might not like him the way he does so he refuses to make a move.

Ana on the other hand was plain shy. She was shy no matter what it came to and I was starting to get tired of them being so oblivious to the love even a blind man could feel!

Even if my love hadn't worked out and I wasn't into the whole cupid love thing anymore I knew my friends deserved to be happy.

Jace would never break Ana's heart and they were just so perfect for each other, it felt like a worthwhile cause to play cupid.

I'm wondering what's next... Is this what they call a writers block? Haha I'm sorry for my inconsistent uploading but I don't have anyone telling me they want uploads!
