Dave's POV

"I don't have one."

She was lying through her teeth and she knew it.

I shrugged and started looking around the little hideout I had found myself in. I didn't want to scare her off so soon I mean I had so much time to do all the classic cheesy stuff that would get her to open up to me.

"How did you even find this place," she broke the silence looking up at me.

"I followed you out, it wasn't that hard."

A cool gust of wind blew and she closed her eyes to feel the fresh breeze against her face. Her soft hair flying behind her.

"Cool place you got here," I asked her wanting to know more.

She nodded and turned to face me.

"I found it around a year ago, it's been like my little secret hideout. I came here whenever school was being a pain in the ass."

"I guess your secret place is now mine as well," I gave her my signature smirk and attempted to cheer her up.

She smiled. A small smile that didn't quite reach her eyes. But I was glad that she was starting to share a little part of her.

Tessa's POV

It's been around a week since I had let Dave see my secret hideout. It wasn't really much considering he had followed me there but maybe we would see each other there more often.

Nikki hadn't bothered annoying me since that day when Dave came after me not her. Nikki used to torture me every day trying to steal away everything from me that I loved.

After I changed she realised I wasn't going to be an easy opponent any more.

I guess it does give me a warm feeling inside but honestly I didn't know any more. My heart was so broken and cut that I didn't believe anything could be strong enough to hold it back together.

"Oi, Tess are you even listening to me?" Ana poked me and when I looked around I realised my whole table was looking at me. Max and Conner who were sitting across me where looking at me expectantly.

They had started sitting with us since Jace had brought them over one day and they were cool kids so we were pretty close friends.

Brenda who was sandwiched between them rolled her eyes and continued to eat her lunch. She had joined our crew a little later than the boys but we were all really close none the less.

"Huh, sorry guys I was totally listening. Wait um what were you saying...?"

I giggled nervously and turned to look at Ana who was sitting next to me. She gave me a pointed look but continued anyway.

"I asked if you were free on Friday."

"Um sure yeh I am but that's like in one day, my parents are never going to let me go out at such a short notice," it was me giving her a pointed look this time.

"Since when did you care what your parents thought? It's just a little party no harm done." Max literally glared at me his eyes daring me not to come.

"Argh guys what is your problem it's not like I don't go out enough with you guys," I waved my arms around to emphasize my point. I may have a bad girl rep. but this Friday I really wanted to stay in bed, it was a Netflix and pizza kind of night.

"Yes well I admit you go out but it's either to do something weirdly illegal or breaking some sort of rule or maybe even law so no you need to go meet some guys and have some fun."
