*LOUIS' POV*

I wake up this morning with a wide grin on my face. I know that the world is in the middle of a pandemic and my entire fan-base, along with me, is bummed about the delay on the world tour and I am also well aware of the fact that millions of people are suffering right now, but I can't help the happiness.

I wake up even before Harry does, which is definitely a rare occurrence, and I walk into the kitchen to fix a coffee for myself, a wide smile still playing on my face. I know that this doesn't mean the end of everything and that we, meaning mostly Harry and I, still have a long way to go before we can be out, but this certainly the first big step.

I have been waiting for this moment since a long time and it's finally here.

The contract ends today.

Simon fucking Cowell is going to find out who Louis Tomlinson-Styles is really is, and Simon fucking Cowell is going to regret everything he has done to keep me and Harry apart in the past 10 years.

I ponder over everything that I am about to do and the consequences that will follow as I drink my coffee, but I am not afraid anymore. I've been afraid and quiet and adjusting to the circumstances for long enough. It's time to fight back.

Even Harry, being the kindest and the most forgiving person that he is, shares the same thoughts as I do. I am glad that I have his support in this and I am glad that my fans somewhat know what is about to go down and that they support me.

I know this because even though I haven't been 'active' on social media lately, I have been reading their messages and their tweets. I know they love me. I know they respect and appreciate me. I know that they're going to support me in anything that might come my way, maybe even more so than Harry himself.

I'm really grateful for this. I always say it, and I'll always keep saying it. I have the absolute best fans in the world and I know that as long as I have them and my family backing me up, nothing can ever go too wrong. They're a huge part of my life – they have been since 2010 – and they're the reason I do what I do every single day.

I hear shuffling behind me and turn around to find Harry coming out of the bedroom, squinting his eyes at the light and balling his hands into fists to rub them. His eyes settle on me and a moment later, so does an unbelievably wide smile.

"Morning, you."

"Good morning, handsome."

He immediately wraps himself in my embrace and I kiss his forehead.

"I'm so happy for you, Lou."

"Thanks, baby. It's the beginning of the end." I smile as he pulls away and takes a sip of my coffee.

"Finally."

"Finally."

"When do you think we'll actually be able to do it, Lou?"

"I don't know. Now, it depends on your management. Even though they're essentially all the same, well, we do know how they said it'll get a lot worse before the going gets goods."

"I think they're gonna make me pull more stunts. Possibly with Florence since we'll be working on the movie together."

I sigh in angst as I hear him say it. I mean, I always knew it was going to happen. Once they didn't have a hold on me anymore, I wouldn't need to pull stunts with Eleanor anymore and all of that would burden onto Harry. As much as I hate it, I know I am going to be right by his side and support him through it. God knows his heart is going to break as the entire fandom divides into hysteria and chaos.

"I'll be right by your side, Haz. I promise. Nothing's gonna tear us down. Not now, not ever."

The frown lines on his face disappear and he smiles fondly at me before taking me in for a kiss.

"I know, baby, and as long as I have that, I don't need anything else. I'm just a little bummed about just how much the fans and our shippers are going to have to suffer."

"I know, I'm worried about them too. But I know that the ones who truly believe in us will never leave, and in the end, they're going to be our loudest supporters. I have full faith in their faith." I mutter with a faint smile and he nods in agreement.

Our conversation is put to a stop when I hear my mobile phone chime, signalling a text message and I take it out of my pocket to notice a message from none other than Simon.

Dick-head: it's been an honour working with you, Louis. I want you to know that I am infinitely proud of everything you've achieved and I am happy that I got to be a part of your journey – both professional and personal. I'll always be here for you.

Me: Stop being so high and mighty, Simon. You're about to pay for everything you have done to Harry and I. I'm taking your ass to court. See you then, asshole. Be ready for payback. I hear it's a real bitch.
