"KUYA, I'M LEAVING for a while. I have an appointment with one of my clients today. Please call me right away if Mom wakes up, okay?" I said goodbye to Hunter and immediately left the hospital. I wasn't in my right mind and was still full of worry about Mom. When I got to the car, my tears started to fall. I stayed there for a few minutes before leaving.

When I got home, I quickly got ready because I was going to the office. When I entered the office, Jenna greeted me with a wide smile. We used to be classmates, and now she works for me as my secretary.

"Jenna, can you buy breakfast?" I handed her my card. "Also, get breakfast for everyone."

Jenna took the card. "Sure, Attorney. Just a reminder, you have a client meeting at 9 AM today."

I sat down and massaged my temples because my head was aching. I nodded and thanked Jenna.

I FELT A bit better after having breakfast. Breakfast is indeed the most important meal. I called Hunter to check on him. "Kuya, eat something. Don't skip a meal. Is Dad there yet?"

"Don't worry, I'm fine. Dad won't be home until this afternoon."

"Okay then. Update me, alright? I have to go. My client might be arriving soon," I said and then hung up.

"I KNOW HOW much you've suffered. I can also feel the regret you're carrying. You've proven to all of us that you're a good person. I forgave you a long time ago, and you deserve to know that... Marcus and I are worried about you. I hope the baggage you're carrying lightens, and that you can start taking care of yourself," Jarzaiah said, smiling at me.

"T-Thank you..." I took a deep breath and wiped away my tears. We talked for quite a while before Marcus and the kids arrived.

I'm grateful to Marcus and Jarzaiah. I wish them happiness in life.

Suddenly, my phone rang. "Hello?"

"Doc, Mrs. Vale is awake..."

"Okay. I'm on my way," I quickly said goodbye to the couple and headed straight to the hospital.

I WAS HAPPY because I had already spoken with Jarzaiah and my patient was awake, so I couldn't help but smile widely while talking to Mrs. Vale's family.

"Doc, my wife and I already discussed the heart transplant surgery. My wife doesn't want it," he said, gently caressing his wife's face.

I took a deep breath. "I respect your decision... Please keep her away from stress and don't forget the medication. If she experiences shortness of breath or any pain, bring her straight to the hospital. Maintain a healthy diet. We also have nurses available for home service to better care for your wife. She can go home tomorrow. Let me know if you change your mind."

"Okay, Doc. Thank you."

"Thank you, Doc," said the patient's son, Hunter, as he hugged me.

I was surprised by his gesture but just let it be, gently patting his back. I said my goodbyes and headed to the cafeteria to eat. I wasn't on duty today, but I was on call for emergencies.

"REALLY? MOM IS awake? Yes!" I jumped with joy when I heard from Hunter that Mom was awake. I quickly packed my things and said goodbye to Jenna.

"I'm just going to Fitz Hospital, Jen. Call me if anyone's looking for me, okay?"

Jenna nodded. "I will!"
