ADORN ZHARICK VALE
"YOU THREE ARE the ones who should take charge of L'azienda and continue the legacy that your grandfather started. You're one of The Superiori, and your code name is L'unico," Dad explained.
I just kept my head down while listening to them.
Chase cleared his throat before speaking. "The only ones who know my identity are the two Managers I trust. As for my brother, only Zero and Cielo know his identity."
"Il corpo means the body, but I'm just Preda in San Tiago. Il corpo is in charge of Asia, Australia, Antarctica, and Africa, while Preda is one of The Leaders," Hunter explained.
"La mente means the mind, and in charge of the rest of the continents. I also took over Phantom's position as one of the Managers. In San Tiago, I'm only a prosecutor."
I tried to calm myself down to understand what they were saying, but anger kept overpowering me.
"You're L'unico, which means the one. The one who punishes or tortures those who dare to break the law of L'azienda. Not only that, you also torture the criminals we capture. The powerful ones. We want to take them all. When it comes to the law, you're the one in charge," Hunter explained seriously. "Everything under our jurisdiction is yours. You have a lot of power, and it's broad, so it's a big responsibility. But once you leave here, you'll be known as Legge, the newest member of The Managers who will handle the Africa region, and you'll also be the company's attorney. Your identity as L'unico must remain confidential."
"What about Mom? You left her alone at home?"
"I'm heading home now," Dad said. "We only came here to meet you. I don't want your mom hearing us talk about this at home. These kinds of things shouldn't be discussed there. This place is much safer."
"I fucking hate the three of you," I said, standing up. "I'm going home." I didn't wait for their response and walked out.
"Hi, Attorney!" Ren greeted as I made my way down the lobby. "So, you're one of us now?"
I slowly nodded. "Yeah."
"Have you thought of a code name?"
"Legge," I began. "I'm taking over the Africa region."
"Welcome to the club," Ren said, laughing. "You're one of us now."
FRANCO DENROUN FITZMAEL
I SAW ARCHER'S missed calls when I got to my office. I had just finished my outpatient consultations. I jumped in surprise when I saw Archer lying on my couch.
"Archer?"
He quickly woke up and stretched. "This couch is so comfy to sleep on. Where did you get it?"
"Did you come here just to sleep?"
He chuckled slightly. "You weren't answering your calls, so I just decided to come here. I've been waiting for almost an hour."
I sat down across from him. "Is there a problem?" My heart was racing, thinking this might be about Adorn.
"Don't worry, it's not about Attorney," he said, almost as if he could read my mind.
Phew! "That's good to know."
"Our company wants to recruit you," he began. "We have our own medical facility, and we also have excellent doctors. Our former cardiothoracic surgeon retired, so we need you."
"Why me?"
"Because you're great in your field. Plus, you're a Fitzmael, you have many connections, and our family is powerful," he said, laughing. "That's why you're the only option for us—we hire the best people."
