ADORN ZHARICK VALE

"YOU'RE JEALOUS?"

"Nope... Just curious."

"Since when?" Adorn replied, raising an eyebrow.

"Since you told me that you like me," I said, smirking.

"Jameson is my friend. We were classmates in law school. He's just really persistent, even though I've rejected him several times. But my secretary told me that he needs help with a case he's handling. Hence, the dinner. I get paid, anyway, since his client is wealthy. Don't worry, okay? You're the only one I want," Adorn said, then grinned.

I shook my head at what she said, trying to hold back a smile. "Okay..."

"Can you drive me home? I don't want to spend the night at your house."

"Okay, Attorney." I smiled.

"Thank you, Doc."

I ARRIVED HOME with a wide smile on my face. I didn't let Franco come inside since I could walk on my own and the pain was manageable. I sat in the living room, and just in time, Hunter came down from upstairs.

"What happened?" Hunter asked as he knelt down and looked at my foot.

"I twisted my ankle earlier, but I'm feeling better now." It took me a few minutes to convince him that I was okay. Hunter is just so protective of me.

He let out a deep sigh before carrying me to my room. I immediately went to the bathroom to take a shower and freshen up. When I returned to my bed, my lips parted in surprise as I opened my phone.

I got a message from Franco:
Hey, this is Franco.
I hope you're feeling better.

Me:
Is this really you?
I thought you had
no plans of contacting
me.

Franco:
I changed my mind.
I don't know what to do.

Me:
With what?

Franco:
Us.

Me:
You don't have to
force yourself into
dating me, Franco.

Franco:
I'm free starting
tomorrow. We can
go out if you want.
But let's avoid
crowded places or
malls since you're
not supposed to
walk much yet.

Me:
Sure! How about
at your place?
You said it's a bit
far.

Franco:
It's about a
thirty-minute
drive. Are you
sure you're okay
with that?

Me:
Of course!

Franco:
We'll be alone at
my place. You might
feel awkward if it's
just the two of us.

Me:
Even better!
I'll have you all
to myself.

Franco:
Attorney?!

Me:
Goodnight, Franco!
Thanks for today.

Franco:
Am I going to
regret agreeing
to this? Haha.

Me:
You'll regret it
if you don't.

Franco:
This is flirting, right?

Me:
Do you like it?

Franco:
I do.

Me:
If we don't work
out, are you going
to date someone else?
