FRANCO DENROUN FITZMAEL

I HAD JUST finished showering and getting dressed. Nerves were crawling through me because today was the day of our wedding, mine and Adorn's.

I couldn't help but worry—what if Serene didn't show up? She was the only guest I was truly expecting. I was lost in my thoughts when the door suddenly opened. "Marcus?"

He smiled, stepping inside. "How are you?"

I chuckled, trying to calm the jittery feeling in my stomach. "Nervous... but also excited."

"That's good," he said with a warm smile. "I'm really honored that you chose me as your best man."

I took a deep breath. "Thanks for being here, Marcus. You don't know how much it means to me," I said sincerely.

He nodded, giving me a reassuring look, as if to say everything would be fine.

"I truly regret what I did to you before."

"Thank you for saying that," he responded, giving my shoulder a gentle tap. "But I forgave you a long time ago." He gave me a soft smile. "And I'm sorry too."

"It's not your fault."

"I let it happened, so I'm partly to blame as well."

"Did you talk to Serene?" I asked, my voice filled with sadness. "Is she coming?"

He immediately shook his head. "I haven't spoken to her yet."

"Do you think she'll come?"

"Yes," he replied without hesitation. "Do you really think she'll miss your wedding?" He grinned. Standing up, he excused himself. "I'll step outside for a bit, my wife might be looking for me."

"Thank you," I said, feeling a little relieved.

A few minutes later, just as I had finished writing my vows for Adorn, I heard the door creak open.

"You came..." A wave of relief swept over me, and all the tension I had been feeling seemed to vanish. I quickly stood up and wrapped my arms around my younger sister, pulling her into a tight hug. "Thank you for being here, Serene."

Her breath hitched as she clung to me, her sobs soft yet sincere, filled with emotions that spoke louder than words. "I'm so happy for you, Kuya."

I tightened my embrace, feeling my own emotions start to overwhelm me. "Thank you for everything, Serene," I whispered, my voice trembling. "You've always been there for me, no matter what. I love you more than you'll ever know."

She pulled back slightly, wiping her eyes, her smile shaky but filled with genuine warmth. Her tears seemed to speak volumes, but so did her smile.

I smiled back at her, my heart full of love and gratitude, realizing just how much her presence in my life had meant.

EVERYTHING WAS IN place. The flowers were arranged, the candles were set just right, and the guests had taken their seats, waiting for the ceremony to begin. The sound of a distant bell rang out through the air, its chimes signaling the moment was near. The garden, filled with red roses and pink peonies, looked like something straight out of a dream. A soft breeze stirred the trees, and there was a stillness in the air, as if time had slowed just for a while.

I had never been to a wedding before, and now here I was, standing at the altar on my own wedding day. Can you believe it? My own wedding. The nerves were overwhelming, and I had to take a deep breath to calm myself.

The moment I saw Adorn, the woman I was about to marry, I couldn't help but tear up. She was more beautiful than I ever imagined. I wiped away my tears and looked at her, a smile tugging at my lips. "She's absolutely stunning," I whispered softly.
