Adit's POV

Well it's happening. The marriage. The girl has said yes and the marriage is confirmed, in 2 weeks. The priest said that a good time for a wedding would be weeks or else its after 6 months. Since my family couldn't wait they decided for the 2 weeks one. Currently it's late nighttime and all of us are sitting in the poolside area just chatting. "Dad why are we bearing all the expenses of the wedding, aren't they supposed to do the same as well?" I ask sipping a cup of coffee.

"No they wanted to but, they are facing problems right now. I don't think Manit uncle's brother is willing to help financially for the wedding." Divya bhabhi says, mom nodding in agreement. "What kind of family is this, who doesn't want their daughters wedding to be good." I frown damn confused.

"Her father is very sweet, but they live with his brother and family, who are not willing to help. That's why the whole cost of the wedding would be on Manvi's hands since her father does not work." mom explained. I nodded mindlessly thinking about it. Not that money matters but hopefully the girl is not a gold-digger.

Manvi, that might be her name. It's a good one though.

Manvi's POV

Only one week is left to the marriage. I am not at all excited for it. Infact I am more than scared for papa. Since the decision, the taunts have become more common. Sometimes chachi does not make enough dinner for us, thus I have to come early from the hospital to make dinner for dad as he has to take his medicines. But I also have to work or else we won't be able to afford the marriage. Right now it's just time for bed and I'm taking dad to his room after his night stroll. Just as we are about to enter, Uncle calls making us halt in our steps.

"Manit I have to talk to you..." I turn the wheelchair around so papa is facing uncle while he talks.

"Ami's marriage has been confirmed. her wedding is on the same day as Manvi's" he says. Eyes wide dad and I face each other as to what he said. "But chachu she is just 25, what is the rush? let her settle down first then she can think about wedding as she wishes." I object as soon as I hear his statement. Out of nowhere chachi comes, "Just because you are marrying a billionaire doesn't mean our daughter will be left behind." she butts in. "It's not a competition on who gets a rich husband, what if he turns out abusive?" I question.

"What if your husband turns out to be abusive?" she retorts. True. I thought about that but being positive is the only thing I could do, wish he would not. "I trust my dad to find a suitable guy for me." I say. "Well then our daughter also trusts us. The groom is Nikhil Kapoor, the CEO of Kapoor Inc. She'll definitely be happy. What else does she need." chachu says. I still cannot believe such orthodox people are in my family. "Fine do whatever you want, who am I to say anything in your matter." I say and turn the wheelchair around going in the room.

"Now what?" Papa sighs, tension building up. "I don't know what to do with my brother. She is only 25 for GOD's sake."

I knell down in front of him, "Dad listen to me, whatever happens we will be fine. I will talk to Nalini aunty about this and we'll come up with a solution. Okay?" I say taking his face in my hands. he just nods tiredly and I help him in bed bidding him goodnight. As I lay in bed, sleep doesn't come fast. I lay thinking about what would happen. How will my husband be. Who is he? Will he accept this relationship? How will Ami's husband be?

The next day I woke up pretty early. After making breakfast for dad and keeping it near him, I went to get ready. By 5.15 I was ready. Dhruvi was already outside waiting for me so I gently kissed papa not wanting to wake him up, I ran out and we were off to the hospital. "So how is everything going?" she asked. "It's good. Ami's marriage is also fixed for the same day to some Nikhil Kapoor, a big shot businessman." I say dropping the bomb.

"What the heck!! Why would they do that?" she asks. "Don't know. Tried explaining them but as you know it's a waste of time." I sigh. This is so frustrating. "Manvi you know you can take teh money from me right?" she asks

"I know."

"And it's not that I'm giving it to you. I am lending you the money, so you have to pay me back with interest." she says trying to joke but it doesn't work. "No I am not taking your money. I know you have just purchased this car, taking a car loan from the bank and you have to pay them back within a year. Don't worry I will manage something." Tears start pooling in my eyes once again. I just don't know what to do. Dhruvi pulls aside and gives me a much needed hug. Reaching the hospital both of us get busy in surgeries and check-ups, getting time only during the lunch break. Since it's late already I decide to take take-out from the nearest restaurant for dinner as I don't have the capacity to make anything.

On reaching the house, I could hear chatter coming from the living room. I walk in and see all the Mehra people have taken over our house. Since anyone was yet to notice me I gesture dad as to what is going on. He just nods at me and tells me to sit. I huff and go beside him. "OH Manvi you're here, that's good. We just came to decide everything for the wedding." Divya says sending a warm smile my way and everyone's attention diverts towards me. As she says this I notice there are many people around, and two guys whom I have not yet met.

One of them is sitting beside Priya as she inanimately talks about everything. HE send a warm smile my way, "Hi, I'm Aman, Priya's husband and this is my brother, Adit whom you are going to marry." he introduces and my attention shifts to the guy beside him. Strong jawline and a chiseled chest which is worth drooling scowls at me. Ohhk so Mr. here has an attitude. He has a stiff posture as his back rests on the couch rest and a permanent scowl on his face.

"I'm sorry but is it ok if I serve dinner to dad, it's his medicine time?" I ask "It's ok, go ahead." Nalini aunty smiles at me. I push dad's wheelchair towards the dining table and arrange the food that I have brought. "Manvi, today also Juhi hasn't made the food for them." dad says. Uhhh today also. I swear my money will go in feeding the whole family only. "You should have called me dad, I would have taken something for them at teh same time." I am frustrated now and my anger is coming out on dad. "I did, you didn't pick up." he says having a morsel of food. "Wait now let me order something online." and I do the same.

Sometime later after everyone is done with the dinner(which was not left for me), everyone sat in the living room discussing the preparation for the wedding. "So Manvi, which dress do you want? These are the three options, select anyone of them." Priya hands me an iPad. I look at the designs. All of them are so beautiful, they might be damn expensive. I look at the prices down and select the cheapest one of the three. They kept on asking me questions about what I want for the wedding but chachi kept answering them since Ami's wedding is also on the same day and they decided to be at the same place. I am okay with that but I know chachi will be demanding all the expenses for the wedding later.

"SO why don't you and Adit talk for sometime? GO and get to know each other." Jay uncle suggests teh most dreading thing. Uhh I'll have to talk to Mr. Attitude now. I nod while getting up and gesture him to follow me. I go out in the garden and sit on the swing, him doing the same.

"So what do you do?" I ask trying to break the ice, the awkward ice. "Listen here and listen good, I do not want this marriage. I am only marrying you for my mother cause she likes you so much. Do not expect anything from me. Got it?" his stern tone does not faze me. Guess all the rich are like this. How is it that such a person has such sweet parents. He is nothing like his parents. So I just roll my eyes and walk away from there not turning back.
