Adit's POV
The first day of marriage and my family was already smitten by her. What the heck has she done to make all of them follow her blindlessly. Not wanting to witness any more of the praises of the new daughter-in-law, I left. Coming to office was a task when your brothers were on your back to not be here on the first day married. they wanted me to spend some time with my dear wife. Wife, I was not even ready for marriage.
By 7.00 in the evening I was tired as hell. Deciding to wrap up today's work I went home alone since my brothers left early. Being the CEO of a worldwide architectural and construction company is hectic. I was home by 8.00 and went to my room directly. Keeping my laptop on the desk I go for a shower. The bathroom is a mess. Towels and wet napkins are on the ground and my shampoo and body wash bottles are all messed up. I am not going to leave this girl. I go out to find her but she is not in the room or the closet even. The room is also a mess. Her luggage is open as some clothes overflow. What the heck is this girl. Me being a neat freak I love my place neat and tidy whereas this girl complete opposite. Ugghhh. Not picking anything up I go downstairs for dinner. Let her pick up all the mess she's made.
Mom was done with the dinner as Dad helped her set the table. "Hey mom, how are you?" I hug and kiss her forehead and sit on my seat, as all of them settle down as well. "I'm good. How was your day?" She asks
"Good, as usual."
"Divya where is Manvi?" mom asks bhabhi as all the attention turns to her. "I don't know. I dropped her off at her friends house and we haven't talked the whole day after. She said her dad is at Dhruvi's place so they would go to the hospital from there only." she says "Ohh ok call her once." bhabhi nods and proceeds to call her.
"Hospital?" I mutter under my breath.
"Yes Adit, she is a doctor and works at the Saifi Hospital." Aman speaks up from beside me. "What?" I widen my eyes in shock.
"Yes brother, a damn good doctor or better yet a surgeon." he says. She is a surgeon. Damn she must be brains. Some time into the dinner the door bell rang and the maid went to open the door. And here comes the daughter-in-law.
"I'm sorry, I'm a little late. Actually I had to drop dad at our house since he stayed at my friend's house yesterday." she explains panting a bit. Looking closely at her, you could see the tiredness of the day in her eyes. Her white coat in her hand as she tries to balance all her things in her hand.
"Oh it's not a problem. Just call anyone and inform us so that we don't worry. By the way how is Manit?" dad asks "He's good just trying to adjust without me." she says tiredly. "Oh and always remember any problem you can come to us anytime." mom adds on. "Now come sit and have dinner first." She comes and sits next to me and serves herself.
After dinner everyone retires to their rooms. As I enter my room I see her entering the washroom. "What mess have you made of my bathroom? I want you to clean it immediately." I say sternly.
"What have I done?"
"Look for yourself." I point inside. A few seconds later she comes out. "What!! It's just some water and a few towels." she retorted.
"A few? Like hell I'm going to let you sleep without cleaning the bathroom as well as the mess that you've made in the room." her eyes dart towards her suitcases that were sitting backed up against the wall and bites her tongue.
"I'm sorry. I promise you I'll do it tomorrow. I'm very tired right now."
"No not tomorrow, right now. I cant stand my room dirty." I say and force her to do things. her lip twitches in disappointment but I am satisfied. She turns around and starts with her work as I casually start my work while sitting on the bed.
"Bossy"
"Hey I can hear that..." I retort to her no so subtle mumble.
"You were meant to." she says.
Sometime later when she's done with everything, I see her go to the bed. "Please switch off the lights now."
"No I still have some work to do." I say while reading the contract which was to be presented tomorrow. "But I have to wake up at 4.00 am for my morning shift and I can't sleep at all with the lights on." I ignore her and keep the lights on. She just turns around and doesn't say anything further.
An hour later, my eyes were straining so I decided to go to sleep for the day. Turning around I saw that Manvi had kicked off her duvet and was shivering in her sleep. Damn this girl. Such a nuisance. I took the blanket and wrapped it around her and immediately she snuggled inside. Turning off the table lamp I climbed the two steps to my bed and I was off to sleep.
MANVI's POV
The next day I woke up really late, That idiot kept the light on for so long yesterday night. Looking towards the bed he still sleeping like the prince that he is. I grit my teeth and go to the washroom to do my morning business. I wore a normal white maxi dress for today and got my bag ready for the day. Adit was nowhere to be seen in the room, might be in the washroom. Anyways I went downstairs and "Good Morning bhabhi..." everybody at the table shouts making me freeze on my spot.
"Morning" I place my hands on my chest and have a seat for breakfast. "Did you sleep well Manvi?" Divya bhabhi asks with suggesting eyes. I know what she is thinking so I answer "yes bhabhi I slept good, was out like light." I say. She just huffs and keeps eating. I giggle at her antics and at the same time Adit comes down dressed in a black suit ready for his office. He looked so good but his personality was such a turn off, Ehh. He wished everyone morning and came and sat down beside me.
"So Adit... How was your night?" Priya asks. I roll my eyes at the same question. "It was good bhabhi." he answers.
"OOO.. it was good." all started giving us weird and suggesting looks. "I'm getting a little late so I'll get going now mom." I say as I get up. "Oh I will be late today since my shift ends at 10.00 today so please don't wait up for me." I tell them in advance so they don't worry or I don't pick up my phone.
"Ok beta, Adit drop her since you are also going to office." mom asks him. "Ohh no I have to go to dads place to sort some things out." I politely decline the offer. "Thank God." comes from beside me. I shoot him a deadly glare as he smirks and shrugs his shoulders. I kick his shin and he coughs up his food. I smile at him and stand up. Bidding everyone bye I was off to dad's house then to the hospital.
