Manvi's POV
Today is finally the wedding day. No doubt I'm nervous but I can't help it. I'm leaving my father, my only family just to go to someone else's house. The whole week my dad kept asking me about Adit. How is he? Is he a good guy? Do you both talk? Have you met him outside our house? I had to lie to him that Adit is 'the most amazing guy' who treats me with so much respect. Seeing him smile in containment I was happy.
Currently I'm sitting on my bed, all ready for someone to call me downstairs. Ami is also sitting with me ready in her bridal attire looking so pretty. Being bored as hell, I started reading a medical journal. Roughly thirty minutes later, Chachi and Dhruvi came in my room to take us downstairs. I gestured Ami to go ahead.
"Read?" Dhruvi asks standing beside me and holding me for support. I huff and nod but inside I'm not ready at all. We reach the end of the stairs to see all the attention on me. Ami is already seated beside her groom and everybody is waiting for me to take a seat. I walk ahead towards the podium and sit beside my to-be-husband. As usual he does not have any emotion on his face. Not even glancing at me once, he is doing whatever the priest tells him to do. Same thing with me. Just my eyes are fixated on my father. He is happy but anyone can see the tears rolling down his cheeks already.
After a long three hours all the rituals are done. Since the food buffet is ready, I don't wait for anyone and prepare a plate for dad. "Beta what are you doing first let the guests eat. How would it look if we before them?" he says quietly. "Papa I don't care what others think. It's for your own health, you have to take the medicines on time." I say strictly not allowing any room for debate. "Okay fine but only if you feed me for teh last time today." he asks "Dad I'm not going anywhere. It's just a 10 minute drive and don't worry you won't be getting rid of me that easily. I'll still be visiting you everyday and this is definitely not the last time I'll be feeding you." I say. "Yes, I know. Can't get rid of her now also." he mutters under his breath, but chuckles anyway. After finishing his food, I wheel him towards the table where everyone is sitting.
"Come here beta, sit beside Adit." Nalini aunty pulls out a chair for me beside him, who is already eating. As soon as I start eating "Thank God she's married now, finally out of the house." chachi taunts trying to be discreet but we all know that was not her intention. I shake my head and continue eating. After everything is over we sit in their massively decorated car, I face Dhruvi unknowingly teh tears running down my face. "I know, uncle is coming with me to m y house, don't worry about anything." she says. "yeah, please don't forget to give him his medicines in the morning after breakfast, I'll come as soon as I can okay" I nod at her. She just hugs me back, and we were off to my supposedly 'new house'.
An hour later we reached a silent part of town, gated colonies were common in this part. Black long railings started which meant that we had entered the premises of their house. I thought they were rich but didn't know they were this rich rich. There was a small cabin at the end and a huge black gate. Jay uncle opened his window and typed in the password maybe. Damn they have a security system. Entering inside, the entrance was a circular path with a beautiful fountain in the middle. the car stopped in front of the door as aunty, uncle and us both got out. the other members of the family also got down from another car. "Come on bhabhi," Divya says as both her and Priya guide me and Mr. Arrogant inside the house. The inside was as beautiful as the outside. Lavish and modern interiors created a cinematic view in front of me.
