Yep, stories are back! I think. I'm trying to snap out of my slight writer's block, so what did my brain tell me to do? Make a Happmingo oneshot!
Yes, my brain also decided to ship those two now. Just two crazy dudes who have a lot of strange moments. It would be neat to see them in a video together! Anyways, let's begin.

Excited chattering could be heard all around, and for good reason too. A travelling fair had found a large enough field on the planet which Mira HQ was located on, creating a mini metropolis for fun in all shapes and sizes. Needless to say, all of the crew had been notified of this fact and were absolutely ecstatic, with one member being the most excited by a landslide, being Happy.

Ever since he was just a mini crewmate, he would always beg to go to any fair that popped up nearby just because they always looked so bright and, well, happy. It's exactly what he loved about things and more. His mother was pretty resilient to the idea, but his dad was the total opposite and was more then fine with taking him there.

But now he was older and an actual crewmate, and this would be the first time he independently went to a fair on his own accord. After he reached the entrance and got checked in, a familiar figure caught the green-suited male's eye.

"Yo wait, Flamster? That seriously you?"
"Hm? Oh, Happ! Didn't expect to see you here!"

The two quickly ran over to one another, practically bursting with excitement. That was especially true in Flamingo's case, as he couldn't stop flapping his hands about while he talked. Whether it be his excitement or his neurodivergency, which Happy didn't quite understand bit respected anyways, one thing was clear: he was just happy to see him again.

After all, the two had barely any chances to interact. The purple suited male was only a part time worker, while the lime suited one was  there more often, but even on days they were both there, they would never seem to meet. So this chance was probably the best one they got for a while.

After some walking, the two had noticed a lot of familiar and unfamiliar faces. BDay was on his own, much to their curiosity, Player was hanging out with Veteran, and Rookie was talking to one of his companions about something. To be specific, his banana-hatted pal[1].

"So, are you sure that'll be a good idea?"
"Yeah! It may be cramped into a small space, but that thing is once in a LIFETIME! If you don't ride it, you're dead crazy!"
"Okay okay, yeesh...you don't need to be so persistent Peely[2]."

As the two walked to where this supposed once in a lifetime ride was, Happy couldn't help but be interested by the sound of the idea. He was curious to what that thing actually was, and he probably would have been thinking about it all day unless Flamingo hadn't chirped in.

"Hey, I got us some tickets to Impostor Tongue! You know, that once in a lifetime rollercoaster here? I can take them back if you want t-"
"WE'RE FINDING THAT AND GOING ON IT! WHOO!"

The purple suited male was a bit taken back by the sudden outburst, but he was pleased to see compliance regardless. So he took the eager male's hand and ran over to the mentioned rollercoaster, and nearly everybody was queued up for it. It was going to be a long wait, but one they were both willing to endure.

After 30 minutes, they had finally made it through to the front of the line and were seated in the red-tinted carts with six others. It was surprising how long it was to wait with such a large rider capacity, but there were answers if you looked hard enough for them.

Right off of the bat, one of the riders, being Dum, had noticed something interesting. The carts were practically little cages, but the ride operator claimed it would make sense once it happened. She was confused, but Dum understood and just buckled up for the ride.

The ride then took off, going at a surprisingly fast speed despite it only being the start, startling the only lime crew member on board. He grasped onto Flamingo's hand, keeping his other one on his trusty Brainslug. He knew that because of this cart's design he wouldn't be harmed, but the thought alone of his friend getting hurt made him sick to the core.

Very shortly after this, the carts reached the top of the hill and everyone stared ahead in disbelief. Something eerily similar to lava was in a pit at the bottom of the hill. That, and the carts were going to go right through it. It wasn't until they started going downhill that everyone began screaming.

It was a very scary experience, but the carts made it through unscathed, mostly because nobody noticed that the 'lava was just cleverly dyed water. Well, nobody expect for Hunter and Baggy, as their cart had a slight hole in it and the water had flowed right on in.

After Flamingo had pulled a breath together, he nudged Happy to let him know they were good to get off the ride now, but he flat out had a death grip on the purple suited male. He wasn't budging, and the purple suited male was questioning if it was like one of those cliches in movies where someone passes out on your shoulder. It wasn't, because the lime suited male quickly sat back up.

"W-what? Uh, I wasn't scared at all there! I knew it was water right from the get-go!"
"Why did you cling onto me like that then?"
"Huh? Oh, uhh..."

As the two walked off towards the exit of the ride to find some food, the only audible sounds came from the lime suited male's nervous denial of being scared and the purple suited male giggling and trying to convince him that it was the case.

And even though they knew it wasn't lava that they passed though there, they were both curious to why they felt so warm now. They both had an answer in mind, but they didn't think very much of that idea. It just seemed a bit unrealistic for now, that's all.

Well, I'd say that went pretty well! Hopefully if I can keep this up, then An Island Escapade will hopefully be back in business soon! Okay, I think that's all for now. :p
