now, back in the spot where max and eve were previously. el was sat in front with the blindfold over her eyes, trying to look for where dustin was.
meanwhile, lucas had loudly opened a can of coke.
"quiet." max whisper-yelled.
"oh, sorry." lucas whispered back to her.
"how do you even drink that?" mike questioned, scrunching his nose up in disgust.
"because it's delicious." lucas stated proudly.
"what?" both mike and max say.
eve rolled her eyes. the more they talked the harder it would be for el to focus on getting herself into the void.
they really weren't going to make this easy for her sister, were they?
"it's like carpenter's the thing. the original is a classic, no question about it. but the remake... (he took one long sip, slurping loudly. he smacked his lips together.) sweeter, bolder... better." he described the sugary carbonated drink to his friends.
"you're insane." mike claimed.
"so, you prefer the original thing?" lucas questioned.
eve rolled her eyes.
"lucas." she said.
"what? no, i'm not talking about the thing, i'm talking about new coke." mike informed him.

"it's the same concept, dude." lucas stated.

"uh, actually, it's not the same concept." mike objected.
"lucas, mike."
"it is the same concept." lucas bickered.
"no, it's not." mike pressed.
"yes it is!" lucas yelled.
"shut up!" both the telekinetic girls yelled.
they looked over to the el, sending an apologetic smile her way.
"sorry." both the boys said earning an another eye roll from the younger twin.

they started grabbing supplies once more, looking for anything they could use to fend themselves from the potential russians that were invading hawkins currently.
"the movies? dustin's so freaked out about the gate, he decides to go watch a movie? yeah, makes total sense." lucas said, incredulously.
"you're positive he said "gate" and not "great"?" max inquired.
