My baby shower was about to begin. I got ready by doing my makeup, curling my hair, and throwing on a purple dress. Having twins, your belly doubles in size. I was only four and a half months and I could barely get around.

Slowly, people started to show up and then everyone was here. Everyone set up the presents against the wall and Mom set out the cake. The doorbell rang and I answered it.

"Grandma!" I shrieked with excitement. I hugged her and she laughed.

"Hey, Lexi. How ya doin?" She smiled at me.

I shrugged. "Good I guess. Where's grandpa?"

"Working. Guys don't come to baby showers anyway," she laughed.

"Hey, Mom," Mom hugged Grandma.

"Hey, sweetie. I'm gonna set the present with all the rest of them and put my bags in the guest bedroom," Grandma said.

Anytime Grandma visited, she always had to stay the night. Everyone gathered in the living room where I opened all my presents. I got loads of clothes, diapers, two cribs, and pink and blue paint.

Around six and seven, people started to leave. Nicole and Grandma were the only ones who stayed.

"Y'know, sweetie," Grandma said as she are some cake. "I'm really proud of you."

"I haven't done anything," I chuckled.

"You're keeping your babies," she said. "That takes courage."

"I'm excited for you," Nicole said. "Can I be their aunt?"

"Obviously," I laughed.

Mom kissed my head and petted my hair. "She's somethin special."

"Oh, I gotta go," Nicole looked at her phone. "Bye, Lexi. Bye, Barns family."

She left and Grandma went to bed.

"Want some ice cream?" Mom asked me.

I nodded and we got two bowls filled with ice cream.

"So do you think I'll be ready?" I asked.

Mom nodded. "I have all the faith in the world in you."

"What if something happens to Emma? Or Mason?" I asked.

"Then all you can do is just be there for them," she said.

I nodded. "Thanks, Mom."
