My baby shower was coming up and I was making invitations. There were knocks at my door. "Come in," I said.

Dad walked in and sat next to me. "Hey, Lexi."

"Hey, Dad," I said.

"So, look," he cleared his throat. "I'm really sorry about everything that happened. And I'm sorry I wasn't there for you more."

"Dad, it's fine," I smiled at him.

"No it's not. I'm your dad--"

"Dad, seriously, it's okay. It's probably for the best that you weren't around much. I was very depressed and very weary of the male species. I still kind of am, but not as bad as I used to be," I said.

"Well, I love you," he hugged me.

"I love you too, Dad," I said.

"Have you decided on names yet?" He asked.

"I'm thinking Mason and Emma," I smiled. "They're both just so pretty."

"I like those names too," he said.

I finished the invitations and put them on my desk.

"I hate that this happened to you," he said.

"Well, I wasn't too thrilled myself, but I love my kids," I smiled.

"Why didn't you or your mom press charges?" He asked.

"I don't want to relive it. Plus, he's out of my life anyway. Everything's fine," I said.

"Well, I think you're gonna be a great mother," he said.

"Thanks, Dad," I said.

He kissed my forehead and left. He's such a goofball.
