The lights flickered off for about a second and a scream echoed in the room. The lights flickered back on and Charlie was no longer there like he disappeared without a trace. However in his place was a leather journal, more specifically, his journal. Kai hesitantly walked up to it and skimmed through the pages. Most of the pages were crumbled and creased and blank, and the journal contained a single word. Survivor. Traces of pity, sadness and annoyance echoed around the room.

As day fades into night, sun turns into moon, many started wandering around and doing their own things. At around 10 PM, everyone was still awake, either playing board games with other players or busily scribbling inside their journals. The masterminds was too, awake and they, together, decided to announce a speech to the players.

"Hello dear players, I have two pieces of very important news to share, so I ask everyone here to please gather in the main room."

The players that were in their rooms stepped out and they all gathered in the main room as instructed.

The speaker continued, "Now that all of you are in the main room, the first piece of news I want to share is that we have will have some new players which will arrive shortly. Some tonight, some tomorrow. Now, for the second piece of news, I would like to announce that there are some new roles. The roles we have so far are: murderer, assassin, psychic, investigator and the most common role, survivor. The new roles added are: twin, medic, witch and clown. All new players and the current players who have the role 'survivor' have a chance to recieve one of the new roles. Wherever you have a new role or not, you will find out at 2AM today and tomorrow. That's all I have to say, good luck!"

"Ughhhggh, at this rate, we're going to stay in this ludicrous game forever!" Amani scolded, her face painted with a sour look.

Trey attempted to comfort her, "Look, it's not all that-" They were cut off by the sound of the door creaking open. For a mad second, Elizabeth thought that it was the mastermind behind the game but her thoughts shortly drifted away when a pink-haired girl peeked through the gap with a look of bewilderment painted on their face. After the one with pink hair noticed that she had indeed, came to the correct place, she stepped in, her long, elegant candy pink hair swishing behind her.

It took Annie a few seconds to register who it was. "Oh my- Lara?"

The one with the pink hair nodded, showing no visible expression on her face.

Annie spread open her arms, engulfing the one with pink hair into a hug. In return, the one with pink hair whispered words of consolation, in her quiet yet soothing voice.

The other players watched the awkward reunion in silence. However, the silence was soon disturbed when the door was opened again, and a girl with short blonde hair and gleaming blue eyes came into view.

"Uh, I'm looking for someone named Melodie. Is she here?" Asked the blonde, "I'm Jane by the way," she added standing slightly in front of the doorframe.

Reza spoke up, "No, whoever Melodie is, she's not here." He glared at the blonde, impatiently waiting for her reply.

"O-Oh okay, sorry to bother you all," Jane stepped back, retreating to the door. However, to her dismay, the door was now securely shut. She attempted to open it by hauling at the handle but no avail, the door remained shut. She walked back to the players.

"Do you know how I could open this door?" She asked.

"Yeah, no. The door is locked and there is only one way out." Replied Reza.

"And that is?"

"Participate in the maniacal killing game that we're trapped in. I'm guessing you're one of the new players?"

"Um, I don't know-" Jane stated uncomfortably.

"How'd you even get here?" Kai asked, looking at Jane.

"Um-..."

It was a cold, damp day. Raindrops descended from the sky, landing on the concrete floor with a loud patter. Jane walked down the street, clutching a vibrant yellow umbrella and holding it above her head to block the rain from falling on her.

As she walked on the concrete path, came across a girl. Her long brown hair was dry despite the pouring rain because she was under the grand oak tree which had blocked the rain and acted like anumbrella to her. She was settled on a timber bench and was glancing left and right nervously as if expecting someone. Her eyes widened as she came upon Jane. She rises to her feet and walked briskly in front of Jane and then spoke.

"Hi. You must be Jane right?"

"Yes, I am," said Jane, "But how did you know my name?" Jane asked.

"Oh, Melodie told me about you," the brunette explained, "I'm Abby by the way. Anyways, Melodie wanted me to give you this,"

Abby thrust an envelope at Jane, which was tied with a red velvet ribbon. On the front, in neat cursive print read, 'Dear Jane'. It did not have any addresses on it. Jane found this strange but shrugged it off.

"Thanks," Jane replied.

"Your welcome. Anyhow, I better get going now. Bye!" Abby said, turned, waved, and walked away. The rain had stopped now, and only the small drizzle of raindrops was present. Jane stood there, holding the envelope and watched as Abby walked away, and when she was sure Abby was out of sight, she turned the opposite way and walked home.

When Jane got home, she closed the umbrella and positioned it in the umbrella stand. She then proceeded to make her way to the lime green armchair which stood near the windowsill where her plants nestled, took a deep breath, unfastened the ribbon and opened the envelope. Inside was a letter. It read:

Dear Jane,

I'm sorry I haven't written a letter to you for so long, but here it is. I've got my friend Abby to deliver you this letter because I ran out of stamps and she was going to the town you were in anyways.

I sent you this letter for a specific reason. I'm going to visit a friend and I'd love to visit you as well. Please visit the address on the back of this letter at 10:30PM on Wednesday.

Yours sincerely,

Melodie.

Jane flipped the letter to its back and read the address. She was shocked when she read it. The address given was just across the road. As she didn't want to disappoint Melodie, she decided to visit the address.

"Uhm... I was told to visit this address by my pen pal, Melodie." Jane stated, "But now I don't think the letter was written by Melodie at all..."
