"Well if the letter wasn't written by Melodie, then who was it written by?" asked Trey.

"Probably the person who organised this idiotic killing game," Reza replied, crossing his arms, "Couldn't it be more obvious?"

"Well, if it was the person who threw us in here, then who would supervise us while they go to deliver the letter?" Said Mila, joining the conversation.

"Are you implying that there are more than one person behind this game?" Reza replied, his face sceptical.

"Quite possibly," Mila smiled, "Say, who was the person who gave you the letter, Jane?"

Jane thought for a moment, then replied, "It was a girl with brown hair, though I forgot her name. I'm pretty sure it began with 'A' if that's helpful,"

"That's very helpful," Annie said, in a sarcastic tone of voice.

"Be nice Annie," Lara, who was beside her, scoffed.

"What? How is the name of the person behind this mess going to help us find out who the murderer is?" Annie snapped back.

"Talking of the murderer, it's about time the lights went out~" A chuckle could be heard from the speaker and soon after, the lights flickered and the room plunged into darkness.

"What the heck? It's not even 2AM yet!" Annie screamed.

"I know, but I'm a little impatient today, so the lights will be going out earlier than usual. Anyways, as 2 out of the 6 new players, Jane and Lara cannot be murdered this night. Have fun!"

The room fell silent and the only sound heard was the echoing of footsteps.

After a short while of standing in the dark, Elizabeth decided to retreat back to her room as it would be safer there. As she made her quick getaway, walking as quietly as she could to avoid attention, she suddenly crashed into a figure, sending her flying to the ground.

A voice whispered from the dark, "Oh, sorry Eliza, here, I'll help you get up," The unknown figure held out their hand to her. She hated that nickname.

Reluctantly, Elizabeth grasped the hand and pulled herself up. Now standing face to face with the unknown figure, she could make out an outline of the figure's face. Reza. Reza was the unknown figure, the one she crashed into.

"Uh thanks, I better get going," said Elizabeth, not wanting to keep the conversation running any longer. It wasn't like she didn't want to talk to him, she would happily talk to anyone in this house but in this context, no one can be trusted.

"Your welcome," replied Reza, and he was gone. Elizabeth suspected that he had went to his own room, which reminded her to go to her room as well.

Once in her room, she went and settled onto her bed. The room looked exactly how she left it before she left for The Votings phase. Except one thing.

A piece of paper was on the desk beside the bed. It had been placed there recently as Elizabeth had not remembered it being there. She went to pick it up, and started reading it.

Hello Elizabeth,

This is here to tell you that your new role is medic! You can heal a person each night. Same rules apply as last time; don't randomly share your role unless you trust the person you're sharing your role to. You can start using your role next time the lights flicker out, the first aid kit is in the closet, good luck!

Yours sincerely,

-A

She wasn't sure how to react. Yes, she had a special role which allows her to heal someone, but that meant she had to put herself in danger to help someone else. But she convinced herself. She would do what it takes to help other people, including herself, to get out of this killing 'game'.

However, her thoughts wandered to the note itself. The note was written by "A" because it was signed by "A". This meant that Jane was correct about the mastermind's name starting with A. Does that mean that Amani is the mastermind? She's the only person here so far who has a name beginning with A. No, that can't be correct. Amani was trapped in the game just like everyone else. A million thoughts floated in Elizabeth's mind. She decided to leave it for the day and get some sleep. As soon as she got into the bed, she fell asleep.

A scream pieced through the silence. Jane sat up on the bed and frowned. She didn't believe that this was an actual murder game and thought that it was a mere joke. She still thinks it is. She slipped on her shoes and trekked out the room. The hallway was pitch black and she could not see a single thing. 'Ugh' she thought, ' I should've bought a torch with me'.

She retreated back into her room and scoured her bright pink backpack, which was covered in stickers, attempting to find a torch. Her hands gripped around a tube like object and she pulled it out. A torch.

However, to her dismay, a post-it note was stuck on it, with the following words, which she had to squint in the dark to read:

Hello,

If you received this message, it means that this object is strictly FORBIDDEN in this game. And because of that, I have taken the batteries out so it is unusable. I hope you understand.

This made Jane scowl but she was yet to give up. She decided to investigate the scream, in the pitch black.

Mila drummed her fingers repeatedly on the table beside her. The scream she heard a few minutes ago had perished and in its place was silence. Millions of thoughts (most of them irrelevant to the scream) drifted in her mind. Why is the murderer so ruthless? Was the murderer forced to kill? Or was the murderer killing out of their own will?

She gritted her teeth and sighed. All the thinking is pointless, she thought. Tonight was going to be a long night, she could feel it. All she had to do was wish the murderer doesn't kill her in her sleep tomorrow or the day after.
