The door opened and the light seeped into the motel room of the early, late summer, morning. The sun was starting to raise over the hill now. They hugged the wall and creeped over to the from room and the door was unlocked.

They kept looking back at the zombie walking around the parking lot concerned that they'll be seen. They were never noticed, and they slipped inside. The door shut quietly behind them. The went into the checkin area and hopped behind the counter. Dave opened the lockeddoor by the officeand they opened it and found a few boxes of cereal and breakfast snacks like honeybuns.

"Well, grab something to eat, take what you want and some for the road. We'll keep and eye out for food, but we have no guarantee that we'll find some." informed Dave

Link and Rebecca nodded and hopped behind the counter and went into the back room to grab some food. Link grabbed the 2 boxes of cereal and Rebecca grabbed a couple handfuls of honey buns. Dave grabbed a few bars of soap and facecloths for the trip and 3 towels.

"Alright, let's go." Dave spoke as he put the things he had just grabbed into his backpack and pulled out his kamas. "I'll take care of our 'company' and get the car open for us."

Dave hopped the counter and walked outside with Rebecca and link following close behind. The zombie notice him and started to turn around, but Dave swung his Kama into the zombie's skull before it could really react.

Dave moved swiftly to the car and set his kamas on the roof of it. He pulled out the coat hanger and slid it through the window seal and unlocked the door in just a few seconds.  Then he leaned across the center console and openned both the passanger doors "Come on, get inside" he said.

Dave grabbed his kamas off of the roof and watched the others hop inside. He sat down and shut the door. He pulled the alluminum makeshift key out of his pocket, and decided it would be better to check for a real key to avoid wear on the ignition.

He flipped the mirror down from over him and the keys fell in his lap and he put them in. "So all that with the can was for nothing" he said with a chuckle.

He put the key in the ignition and turned it. At first it just clicked, and then after a second, it started.

They drove off and were rather silent. They passed around some honey buns and ate. They drove for a little while until they saw a familiar vehicle.

"Oh my god..." Said Dave.

Rebecca and Dave looked up and saw Dave's car, smashed up on the side of the road. Link got out of the car that was at a stop and ran over to the wreck.

Upon getting to the car, Link didn't see anyone inside, and not a single drop of blood anywhere in or nearby it. It was empty. Link, feeling upset, yet relived that he knew Jenn did not die in the crash, went back to the car and got inside looking sad.

"Was she?..." Asked Dave

"No, nobody was inside and there was no blood so she wasn't in it or wasn't hurt when it crashed." Replied link.

They went back to driving quietly and they came across a small town. Up, on top of one of the roofs was a familiar face. One that Link recognized immediately. It was like seeing a ghost.
