Walking back and forth in the hospital hallway, Jisoo can feel her heart dying every single minute that pass. Inside the room in front of her is her wife and child fighting for their life.
"Jisoo!"
Jisoo looked behind her and see her parents and Jennie's parents running to her.
"Mom!" Finally, Jisoo broke down seeing her mother.
"Oh dear..." Her mother hugged her tight as she cries in her shoulder.
"M...om" Jisoo's voice cracked. "W...hy would someone d..do this to my w...w..wife?"
"Shhh...hush dear... Be strong for your child and wife."
"I'm s..scared mom, what if s...something bad happen to Jennie? I..I can't l...live without her." Jisoo broke down and cry. "This is my fault! My wife and child are now in there fighting for their lives because I failed to protect them!"
"Jisoo, don't blame yourself." Jisoo’s father patted Jisoo's shoulder, "I know if only you knew that it'll happen you will do everything just to save her. Just to make sure she will be safe. And your wife knew that too. Believe that your wife and child will fight to survive."
"D..ad"
"We will pray for their safety, Jennie... M...my Jennie she loves you so much, I know..i can see it. And I know how much you love her." Jennie's father voice cracked.
"T...he person who d..did it?" Jisoo ask.
"let the police handle it." Her father says. "Don't worry about the culprit, we will handle him or her. Focus on your wife. I will let you know if there is any news about the suspect."
Jisoo just nod. Her father is right, she should put all her attention to her family. They are more important. She knows her father and father in law will do everything to catch whoever did this.
Jisoo let go of her mom when the door in the emergency room open.
"Family of patient Jennie Kim?" The doctor called.
"Doctor, I am her husband, how's my wife? My child? Are they okay?"
"Mrs. Kim and the child are out of danger for now. If after 24 hours and nothing happened, then there will be the time where we can really say that everything is okay. As of now, we will keep a close eye on the patient."
"They will be fine, right doctor?" Jisoo wants to be sure.
"Rest assured that we will do everything just to save your wife and child."
"Please doctor, do everything to save them."
"We will"
"Thank you, doctor,"
"The patient will be taken to her room, please wait there."
Jisoo nod.
She wants to be happy that her wife and child are okay, but she can't not until she is sure, she can't be assured that Jennie and her child are okay until she hears her wife's sweet voice.
"Jisoo, why don't you go home and take a rest, we will call you if there's any news." Jennie’s mother says.
"I will not go anywhere; I will not leave my wife’s side. I want to be the first person she'll see when she opens her eyes."
Jennie was finally taken to her private room. Her face is pale. Jisoo feels the pain her wife felt. She holds Jennie's hand and brings it in her lips.
"I'm sorry, I can't protect you, Wife." Tears fell from her eyes; she caresses her face. "I promise; I will not stop until I caught whoever did this to you."
Jisoo's eyes landed on her wife's stomach. She bitterly smiled. "My child, be strong. Your mom... She did her best to protect you when I can't, so please do not give up. Fight, baby... For your Mommy." Jisoo wipes her tears and kisses Jennie's little bump. "Do it for mommy, baby..."
Jisoo’s mother hugs her from behind. She can feel her pain. The heartache her daughter can feel right now.
"She will be okay, honey."
"She will be, right mom?"
"Jennie loves you, she will not leave you."
Jisoo looks at her wife. Jennie really loves her and will not leave her.
Her mother looks at her child and saw her appearance. Her daughter is a mess.
"Jisoo, We understand that you are worried about your wife, but dear you have to go home and change." Her mother says, looking at her daughter, her clothes have bloodstain.
"No, I'm not leaving my wife's side mom."
"I understand. I will ask your father to buy you a set of clothes so you can change, tomorrow I will get more at your place."
Jisoo nod.
"Where is Dad?" Jisoo ask.
"Your dad and father in law went to the police station."
"Is there any news about the accident?" Jisoo asks her mom.
"We don't know yet, dear. Let's wait for your fathers."
Jisoo smile weakly. "I will make them pay. I swear I will not stop till they are found."
