Twenty-nine

"Jisoo, this Kim Jongin, what do you know about him?" 
 

Jennie’s father is in his office with Jisoo to talk to his team of lawyers. He wants to know all about this Kim Jongin
 

"I have known nothing about this guy other than what I've told you in the hospital. But maybe we can ask several people in their company." Jisoo stop to think. "This Park Chaeyoung or Rosé maybe we can ask her."
 

"Park Chaeyoung?" Jennie’s father asks. "Who is she?"
 

"She is Jennie's friend from work dad and they are from the same department. I've met her once, and Jennie used to tell me about her."
 

"Chief.." One of Jennie’s father's lawyer called him. "We need evidence to sue this guy. We cannot file any charges against him without solid proof."
 

"Can't be him being an annoying suitor is enough proof to charge him anything?" Jisoo was desperate.
 

"Mr. Kim, we cannot do that. We need evidence. A solid one."
 

"CCTV Footage!" Jisoo says. "Korea has CCTV cameras installed in every streets and crossing. Even small establishments have one now. So maybe we can find anything in there!"
 

Jennie’s father nod. "That could work. We could make a request to the city security if we can see the footage that day Jennie was hit."
 

Jisoo had a little hope that maybe they can catch the person behind her wife's accident. Maybe she can prove that Kai has something to do with it.
 

"Ms. Lee, can you find anything about this Lawyer Kim Jongin? What kind of person he is or is he has a police record and anything you can find about him."
"Right away sir." 
 

"Thank you."
 

"Dad, if it is proven that this person has any involvement towards my wife's accident what case can we charge him?" Jisoo asks.
 

"Attempted Murder. The penalty is 15 years’ imprisonment and liable to fine. But we can charge him for frustrated murder because he intentionally hit Jennie and it may cause her life and the child in his stomach. It can be charged with life imprisonment."
 

"Dad do everything to make him suffer. Whoever did this to my wife, make him pay for it dad."
 

"Don't worry son, I will do everything I can to find him."
 

Jisoo stood up from her seat and went to her father in law. 
 

"Dad is it okay if I go back first in the hospital?"
 

"Okay, Jisoo you go first I will follow later."
 

"Thanks, Dad."
 

Jisoo left his father in law's office with a little piece in her heart that somehow whoever did this to her wife will get his punishment.
 

But is it enough that he will just go to prison? Ten years of imprisonment, or Fifteen but is it enough payment for almost killing her wife? Her child? 
 

He deserves more than that. 
 

Lifetime imprisonment is what he deserves or more than that. That person almost took the lives of the people she loves the most.
 

The thought of almost losing her wife make Jisoo's heart tightened. She clenches her fist.
 

Opening the door to her wife's room Jisoo's face turned dark seeing the person inside holding her wife's hand.
 

Jisoo charges to that person and yanked her wife's hand away from him and pushed him away.
 

"Don't touch my wife!"
 

"Jisoo!" Jisoo’s mother who is there too to visit her daughter in law was shocked at her daughter's sudden outburst.
 

"Dude, relax I'm just visiting Jennie." Kai looked at Jisoo and smirk.
 

"Don't try to fool me, I know you have something to do with it and I will do everything to find evidence and make you rot in jail!" 
 

"Dude, you better watch your mouth. You cannot accuse me of anything without proof. I can sue you for defamation." Kai steps closer to Jisoo and he whispers in her ear. "Be careful, Kim. You may not be able to see your wife wakes up and give birth to your child."
 

"Damn you, bastard!" Jisoo pushes the man away. I will kill you! I swear!!" 
 

"Grave threat, you're threatening to kill me then Grave Oral Defamation. Tsskk.." Kai smiled sarcastically at Jisoo before he left.
 

After the man is out of their sight, Jisoo’s mother went to Jisoo and rub her back.
 

"You should not do that, honey." Jisoo’s mother cries. "You just made things worse. What if he does what he says?"
 

"I don't care! mom. I will find evidence to prove that it is him who hurt my wife.
 
 
 
 
Meanwhile, outside Jennie's room, Kai was still there standing listening to them. His face showed no softness like how people always see him. The Kai who is standing in the hallway has a dark face. 
 

"Oh, Kim Jisoo, you are making it easier for me to steal your wife, to have my love back." He smirks. "You better be ready Kim, you don't know what is coming to you."
