Blood and Claws

I will fight with fire ~~ Chapter fifteen~~

I woke up next day in the bed in the earth castle. I looked around panicking forgetting where I was. Realization then hit me; I flopped down letting an aggravated breath and combed my fingers through my hair. I turned over looking out the window as the sky were purple as the sun was setting. I heard the bedroom door open and I closed my eyes as if I was asleep.

The person walked over shaking my shoulder. "Alexandria wake up, breakfast will be served in an hour." I didn't move or make a sound. The person kept shaking my shoulder telling me to wake up. I gave up opening my eyes to see Dakota looking down at me smirking. "Breakfast is in an hour. I have clothes for you here." He says throwing a string bag on my bed.

I rubbed my eyes and nodded. I got up going to the bathroom grabbing the clothes. Dakota watched me but, I didn't say anything. I slammed the door behind me locking it and got in the shower. When I got out I dug through the sting bag pulling out the clothes.

It was better than last time. I had simple black jeans with a white collar shirt. I pulled the yellow ribbon out of my hair that I had since the day of the car accident. I already missed Chris, Clarisse, Shay, and Violet. I put the ribbon back in my hair. I hope they come soon. I sat on the bathroom floor knowing one of them are probably out their waiting for me.

Chris told me that if I refused to be on their side they will kill me. I need to stay alive till I am able to escape or they come get me. I heard talking on the other side of the door and I slowly got up close to the door trying to listen.

A familiar women's voice spoke. "You need to form some kind of relationship with Alexandria. We want her to like us."

"What do you mean? You want one of us to court her?" I heard Dakota ask. I then heard some girl giggle.

"If that is what it takes." The women says.

"I don't even see why we need her. We can win this war without her." I heard a familiar female voice say.

"She has power that no one full understands. That is why we need her. Do not bring it up again Nicole." The women says.

"Whatever." Nicole replies. I heard a fusterated sigh and a door close.

Then someone knocks on the door and I pull back. "Alexandria are you done?"

I waited for a while and opened the door. Everyone I met in the woods was standing before me. Nicole, Dakota, Ty, and that one mystery girl I still do not know the name of. I sat there awkwardly staring at me feet. "Let's get something to eat." The mystery girl says walking out the door.

"Whatever." Ty says following her out with the rest of us. I ate again awkwardly sitting there not saying anything. I did eat though from the fact I was starving and nothing happened to me yesterday from the broccoli.

Afterwards we walked through the castle. I figured out mystery girl name is Blake. We walked down a couple flights of stairs and down a hall way. They push open a door leading outside in the woods. There was a stone pathway lit with small twinkling lights in the trees. The sun has set completely so it was now night. Ty and Nicole walked by my side. Blake and Dakota walked in front of us.

Nicole attempted to strike up a conversation. "So Alexandria do you have any hobbies?"

"I sketch." I say quietly.

"What do you sketch?" Ty asks.

I roll my eyes. "Pictures." Both Dakota and Blake snicker. I then heard a bunch of yelling and cheering. We walked up to a crowd of people who were doing the cheering and screaming. "What are they doing..." I ask slowly.

"They are fighting." Dakota says.

"Why?" I ask slowly.

They all snicker. "For fun... this is how we learn." Dakota says. He grabs my arm pulling me so I could see. Four people were fighting in a circle dug in the ground outlined with stone. Two people were fighting with water and two other were fighting with fire. The two water people were obviously on the winning side. Eventually the both of the fire people were knocked out of the rink and the crowd cheered in uproar.
