THANK YOU FOR THE 1K READS!

Sorry this took so long to get out. I was suffering terribly from writer's block and I couldn't write for a while. I hate it when that happens.

I'm still suffering a little from it, but I hope that this chapter makes up for the delay.

Hope you all enjoy the chapter.

Quick warning: there will be a depiction of graphic injury. I've tried to keep it to a minimum to not trigger anyone, but I'd still advise caution.

"Still can't believe ya fuckin' do this to yourself."

"If you don't like it, you're more than welcome to wait upstairs."

"And you can shut the fuck up about trying to change my mind."

Kaito sighed again in defeat at that. The Hunter's Moon came back and it was time to get into the dreaded routine. Maki was locked away, with a knife securely on her. Kaito's grandparents were keeping themselves out of the basement. The only difference was that Mondo was down there with him. Kaito tried out everything he could to say to get the biker to change his mind, but Mondo wasn't having it. He was sitting across from Kaito, glaring at the restraints on the teen as if he tried to banish them. He wasn't impressed with Kaito's tactic, but he wasn't there to judge. He needed to see how Kaito acted so he could try to find a way to help. They both had a full canteen of blood each to last them through the feeding time. Kaito was dreading it. He didn't know how he would react to another vampire being this close to him when blacking out. He would injure himself during that time. Who knows what might happen to Mondo if he can't control himself? Best case scenario, the chains hold him back long enough and Mondo will be fine. Worst case scenario, Kaito breaks lose and attacks Mondo, even possibly kill him. He doesn't want anything like that to happen.

"Hey, Mondo?" Kaito finally spoke up. The silence was starting to make him dread more about what could happen. He needs to take his mind off of it somehow. Talking seemed like the best option.

"What, kid?" Mondo asked, looking like he thought Kaito started to have problems already. So far Kaito was normal, but only time will tell at this point.

"I know you didn't answer me directly, but you're with a human, right? In a romantic relationship I mean." Kaito finally asked. It had been on his mind since Mondo decided to stay. The biker didn't confirm his suspicions, but he didn't deny them either. If he was with a human, maybe he didn't want to say it out loud to alert any Vampire Hunters that were around. The less they knew about this human, the better and safe it would be for them.

"Not that it's your fucking business, but yeah. Yeah I'm with a human. Unlike what you and your girl did, we made our feelings known in private." Mondo sighed, knowing that Kaito wouldn't stop asking about it if he lied.

"So, you do what you can to keep her safe then?" Kaito asked. Though their situations weren't the same, he felt relieved as he was reminded that he wasn't the only vampire that was in a relationship with a human.

"I do what I can to keep HIM safe, yeah. It's not easy, but we make it work." Mondo sighed, putting more emphasis than needed in his answer. They make it work somehow? Kaito will have to ask him about it later for when he and Maki go back to the city.

"Have you been in a situation like this?" Kaito asked, unable to stop the questions lingering in his mind. With the time to feed, and the chance of him blacking out fast approaching, he felt like they should talk more so then he's not thinking too hard about it.

"A Blood Lust? Surprisingly no. I heard of vampires like you getting into situations like this, but most get out of it easily enough. You're definitely somethin' else, kid." Mondo said confidently. Kaito didn't want to admit it, but he felt a little disappointed when Mondo said that. He hoped that he would be talking to someone that had been in a situation like this. It would help him be understood more. Maybe Mondo could help him get into contact with someone that had recovered from a Blood Lust if he asked about it. Mondo glanced out of the window, spotting how the position of the moon had changed. He suddenly got up and offered Kaito his share of animal blood. Kaito accepted it and Mondo placed it in his shaking hand. Kaito cursed at himself for looking pathetic, but Mondo didn't say anything about it. The less said, the better he guessed. Both vampires drank, with Kaito saving some to help last him before or after he blacks out.
