Maki went into the routine that she unwillingly adopted. Have super, go into Kaito's room and barricade herself inside it. The Hunter's Moon once again came. She made a promise to Kaito that she would keep herself away from him. She had lied. She looked him in the eyes and lied. She hated that she did that and a part of her was screaming for her to keep her word. However, she couldn't do that. She stood by what she believed. She caused this, so maybe there was a way for her to stop it. All of this chaos needs to stop. She's willing to try anything to at least bring back some normalcy.

As soon as she barricaded herself in the bedroom and after Yuuka checked in on her quickly, Maki braced herself. She knew that it all starts as soon as midnight rolls around. The screaming and the violent outbursts that Kaito had suddenly developed. The urge to hunt Maki down with a wild animal. She had a feeling that Mondo would be down there with Kaito to keep an eye on him again. But what will happen if Kaito breaks free again? Those are new chains that were restraining him, but with how unpredictable he was, there was a chance that Kaito would break free again. Even a small one. If Kaito broke loose and Mondo was down there, there was also another of the biker being attacked or even killed.

Feeling like she was ready, Maki carefully opened the window. She hesitated for a second, making sure no one was out of the room. Knowing that she was in the clear, she carefully scaled down from the window. It was quite hard to do it as she struggled to get a good enough hold on the wall of the house. Thankfully, she was able to scale down well enough to jump and land safely on her feet. She waited for a few seconds, making sure that no one heard her sneaking out. No one came out, no one spotted her. She was in the clear. Knowing that she was safe, she started creeping around the house. She remembered that there was a window in the basement. If she could see inside it, she should be alright. She'll watch what goes on. If things go alright, she'll sneak back into Kaito's room. But if things take a turn for the worse, she'll try to stop it.

Finding the window, Maki crouched down to it. She looked through to. Mondo stood by the far side of the basement. He was drinking from a canteen. Maki didn't need to guess what was in it. She knew that Mondo was consuming blood. He was also keeping a weary on Kaito. Maki steeled herself again, trying to prepare herself for what she was to see. And she almost immediately felt lurk breaking down. Kaito was sat down, chains wrapped around his limbs and his waist. Maki was expecting something like this, but it still broke her heart to see him like this. Kaito was chained up like a savage beast, something that he kept painting himself as. It all looked painful. This madness needs to stop.

Kaito was sitting as comfortably as he could, taking huge gulps out of a canteen of his own. Mondo tried to keep Kaito calm by keeping up a conversation with him. However, Kaito was twitching, looking agitated again. He kept making a gesture and was shouting for Mondo to get out. The biker shook his head, remaining stubborn. Everything seemed to be okay.

But then it changed.

Maki watched in horror as Kaito suddenly gripped his head, as if he were in pain. He was even clawing at his hair, as if he was going to rip it right off of his scalp. Mondo changed his stance to more of a defensive one. He was preparing himself for an attack. Maki didn't have anytime to blink at all. Kaito suddenly launched himself forward. He was stretching out, trying to grab Mondo. The chains held him back, holding firm against his strength. Mondo tried speaking calmly, clearly doing his best to get Kaito to calm down. Maki couldn't see his face, but she knew that it wasn't helping. Kaito kept trying to grab Mondo as best he could. He seemed to be a mindless beast, not thinking about what was going on around him. Maki expected to see something like this, but it still gave her a massive spike of fear. Kaito was in a worse state than she originally thought. He wasn't the Kaito that she knew. It was like he was so far gone, a risk that Maki may have already lost him.
