Infected: Chapter III
John and I spend the next couple of days trying to scavenge for resources to hold off the ever-growing population of "Infected", you see this whole zombie virus started when scientists tried to make a "cure" or medicine, that removes all deformities and "wrongs" from the body, all the fat, all the mental issues and all the sicknesses. But, as you would expect, something went wrong. When this medicine removed the fat, it made the subject's, or victim's muscles extremely athletic and strong, but it also removed all fat from the skin, leaving the tissue desperately weak and prone to tearing. The cure then went over the top and removed what it thought was fat from the brain, it turns out that what it removed was all the moral, basic emotions and knowledge, stripping the brain down to bare essentials. This put the victim in a barbaric, cavemanlike state. The cure removes all fat in the subject's blood, turning it sickly yellow. The special germs in the stomach, used for digesting food, were taken out, leaving the victim only able to devour human flesh. The result is an extremely athletic, barbaric, blood-thirsty zombie that hungers for humans. John and I don't know exactly how the zombie virus is caught, but we have definately not biting or scratching, like in all the movies. The reason I am different is because John is a great brother. He realised I had been infected, judging by the foul black scar on my shoulderblade growing bigger and bigger by the day, spreading up my neck and down my shoulders. That was about the time when our parents, Lan and Celia, ran out mysteriously. So John took it upon himself to lock me in a cage.
