Swinging my bag on my back as the school bell rings ,I dive deep into my thoughts. Today's my birthday ,my 16th birthday and nothing has happened yet. On everyone's 16th birthday they get their soul marks ,showing what represents your perfect other half. Your soulmate. I haven't got mine yet.
A searing pain on my left shoulder drags me out of my thoughts. Looking around ,I don't see anyone. Struck with the realisation that I'm half way home ,the pain becomes more intense. My soul mark. It must be. As the pain dulls , I tug my shirt away from the area and my soul mark in all its glory is sat there.
