She lay back on her bed, which she shared with her sister. Her sister was already sound asleep and snoring like a squirrel. She reached up to the stars hanging from the ceiling over her. Touching one of the stars, her thoughts went back to the night of the beginning of a New Year. Although she didn't want to see his face but was also glad about inside that at least it was his face she saw. "Why?" she mumbled to herself. She had been stopping these thoughts for a long while but this time she could feel herself going weak and she knew that at least once, she would have to sort these feelings inside her.
"Why Devi Maiyan? Why are you doing this to me? I never imagined myself to hate someone but from the moment I had my eyes laid upon this particular person, I seem to hate him with all the strength inside me. His ideas, his beliefs, and his behavior, everything of him disgusted me. I couldn't understand that there are people like that too whose only concern is the power they have over others and others, how rich they can get. He used to hate me too but I have no idea where it started to change, one minute he was completely outrageous and the other minute, he was caring like a decent human being. I can't even remember when he started to change like this, maybe because I was blinded by the hatred altogether.
No wonder hatred is one of the evilest feelings. Then slowly and gradually I saw his softer side. He was nice to the people he was most close too, his sister only. I saw him ready to anything for the sake of her; he wasn't any mighty ' then but just a little brother ready to give up anything and take anything she would even whisper for.
It never happened before when I was around him but I started feeling his presence and whenever I was too close to him, my heart would start beating faster and I would have a weird feeling inside my stomach but then when he returned me my lost payal, I thought that there really is something similar to the likeness between us but he crushed my slightest ray of hope that day and that's why I just to believe that, that day never existed! My world was crumbled into pieces and y heart had stopped beating for fraction of a second but I couldn't just walk in and tell everyone that the guy I hate just broke my heart.
I could understand anything at that moment Devi Maiyan!! Of Course, then I had to get engaged to our paying guest who turned out to be Anjali Ji's husband!! I already was suspecting him on this but when I saw it for real with my own eyes, I couldn't believe how much betrayal one can give! Why did it have to be our family?? My heart still had few cuts, which I had hidden but this something that you would expect to emerge out of the blue. That guy literally had dinner and lunch with lied to and us for every fraction of the seconds!! I wanted to tell him the moment it found out but then I didn't ho to do it; his reaction was unpredictable for me and so I tried to escape the scenario.
I tried to tell Anjali Ji too but when I saw how much she loved him, I couldn't collect myself to voice out the truth!! Jiji's wedding is in full swing and I can't be the one to spoil the whole lot of it!! Sometimes I can't understand anything at all. Even when Arnav ji told me about the world being cruel and brutal, I couldn't grasp the whole idea. I don't know why Devi Maiyan, I don't know how to deal with all of this.
Sometimes I wish I go to him and tell it all because I can feel that he's the one who can clear out my confusion! But I'm scared of it too. Why do you have to make all this difficult for me!" She yawned on the last of her words as her eyes closed and she felt a certain relief spreading across her body. "Don't worry laad governor, I'll get to you one day!' she muttered falling into a peaceful sleep.
