Chapter 9

Why didn't we ever use protection? Why did we never think? How do I tell him?
'Jack I know Alice is having your baby, but surprise i'm pregnant as well'
Well done Cassie, well done.

I opened up WhatsApp, and went to our messages and typed 'Jack, I need to see you'
I pressed send. There was two ticks. Not blue but the message had gone through. He's going to hate me.

I stood in the shower for what felt like an hour. Letting the water fall over my naked skin.
I could smell him before I saw him. His arms were wrapped around my waist. Stroking where our baby was, if only he knew.
I could feel his naked body against mine. 'I've missed you so much' he whispered in my ear.
He gave me butterflies when he touched me. 'We need to talk Jack'
'Later' is all he said. He pushed my front up against the bathroom wall and started kissing up and down the back of my body.

'Have you spoke to Alice?' I said, watching him getting dried in my bedroom.
'Yeah she rang me earlier' he sighed. 'It was one time without protection. She woke me up in the middle of the night and I was thinking about you and got carried away' he shook his head 'I don't want a baby with her. My career is going really well and I don't love her'
Best to keep this news to myself for now.
'She's only early. She thinks about 2 weeks. She's going to get booked in to get rid of the baby I think' he looked at me 'it's strange how we've never been caught as we never use protection'
I fake laughed 'I know haha. We are lucky I guess'
I swallowed hard. He just stared at me, burning a hole through my eyes.
I quickly changed the subject 'why haven't you been speaking to me?'
'Ay, you told me it was basically over'
'Yeah but you still could speak to me when we are out. You just ignored me'
'It was easier to ignore you Cas, then speak to you. It's too hard' he sat on the bed next to me.

*knock knock knock*
'Cassie it's me, open up!'
Fuck! Alice is here, downstairs, outside my front door and Jack is here in my bedroom!!
'Shit! You need to hide!' I started gathering up all his clothes. 'Quick in the spare bedroom!'
He ran and hid in the bedroom. Oh shit! This could end badly.
I ran downstairs, completely out of breathe and opened the door.
I smiled 'Hey Al'
'We aren't keeping the baby' she smiled and made her way through to the kitchen.
'Oh you aren't?'
'Nah. It would be silly to do that to the baby' she started pouring herself a glass of juice. 'I'm only 27 I still have several years before I need to start thinking about settling down' she took a drink of her juice 'i don't feel like is in the right mindset to have a baby. His career is soaring. He is leaving in the next few weeks to go to a tournament in Rome'
What? He never told me this! Well we haven't really been speaking so that's probably why.
'Oh right. How long for'
'He said roughly about 6 months' she said calmly. 'I don't think we will last that long as there's no way he can go to Rome for 6 months and not sleep with other girls. They are sexy, he's sexy it's bound to happen'
This broke me a little bit. 6 months away.. thousands of sexy tanned women! Oh god!
'Alice why do you seem so calm??'
'Because as handsome as he is, this has made me realise it's just basically a fling. I'm not in love with him. If I was I would want to keep the baby and start a family with him, but I don't' she said 'also he is definitely seeing someone else'
I looked at her 'what makes you think that'
'I can just tell. He's never really been that interested in me'
Oh dear! I feel like such a bad person.
'I'm sorry Alice'
'You don't need to be sorry babe. You aren't the one he's cheating on me with' GULP.
'It's fine anyway. I'm over it. Im ending it tonight'

She stayed for about an hour. Talking about why she thinks Jack is cheating on her. I felt worse with every word that came out of her mouth. I need to end this for good. We could never be together officially. Especially now he's been with Alice. Jack is no good for anyone. Shit Jack! He's still upstairs!

'Anyway babes, I'd better go. I need to go and speak with Jack. I'll call you tomorrow. Love ya'
As soon as I saw he car pull off the drive, I ran upstairs to Jack, who was laid on my bed all dressed, on his phone.
'She thinks you're seeing someone else'
He looked at me, with those gorgeous eyes 'I know I heard'
'She's also getting rid of the baby'
' I know I heard'
'She also told me about Rome'
'I know I heard'
'Jack, can you say anything else other than I know I heard'
He laughed 'what? I never told you as we weren't speaking. He sat on the edge of the bed and pulled me over to him 'I'll be back before you know it'
'Jack' I looked at him. I had to tell him 'I'm pregnant.
