Chapter 11

One year later;

It was almost my 29th birthday! 29! I'm almost 30! Where has the time gone???
I'm still dating Cam and we are very happy together. Alice is dating someone called Matthew who was a really nice lad.
I won't lie.. I have stalked Jack on Instagram on the odd occasion. He never replied to my drunken message. Thank god. I was over him though. We had our fun and now we've both moved on. He is still dating Sophia, and it's pretty serious as the press have sparked rumours of an engagement.

'Cas, what are we doing for your birthday? It's your last year being in your 20's'
'I'm trying to forget about my age!! But what about Ibiza? I know it will be late booking it.. but how exciting would that be? Me you em and Jen?'
'That sounds like such a plan! Let me message the girls and see what they say'
We hadn't been abroad together in years and I was in desperate need of a holiday. Work has been hard the past year. We were accepting so many new clients, the work load has been off the scales. Working past 5 every single day, even working weekends.

Jenny and Emily said yes to Ibiza, and we booked it for 2 weeks time. A summer holiday. Week of sun and drinks. I could not wait.

'I'll take you out for a meal when you get back babe' Cam said whilst pulling up at maccys drive through 'your birthday is whilst you are on holiday right?'
I nodded 'yeah, it's really the only time we could get it a bit cheaper as July and august are really expensive, June was cheaper.'
'Babe it's fine don't worry about it. It will be really nice for you to get away with the girls' he placed our order and drove to the window to pay for it 'we will have to go away together later this year'
I smiled at him 'yeah that would be nice'
He was so cute. I loved him. He made me really happy.

'I can't wait to get there and play in my bikini getting drunk and catching a tan' Alice squealed.
We all laughed. 'I know! It's been so long! I hope the hotel is nice as it looks on the photos!'

The hotel was as nice as it looked. We were having the best holiday. We were all so tanned. Drunk every night. I was missing Cam but I was really enjoying my time with the girls.

It was the 2nd to last day of our holiday, it was my birthday and we were at a beautiful restaurant for my birthday meal. The food was so nice, it was outside and inside, but we decided to sit outside. We enjoyed people watching.
'Girls, thank you so much for the best time in holiday. I'm really sad it's almost ending. Only tomorrow left then we go back home the following day'
'I have the best time Cassie. I'm so glad you suggest this holiday. It's what we all needed' Jenny said.
'Cheers girls' Alice raised her glass and we all clinked them together and giggled.
'Oh my god Alice look who's walking into the restaurant' Emily gasped quietly.
I looked towards the door. I saw him. Oh my god he was even more beautiful then he was a year ago. How is that possible? He had a gorgeous tan. He had a shirt top in and some
Denim shorts. His hair was gelled back. She was with him. They were smiling, holding hands. He genuinely looked really happy!
'Oi Jack Grealish' Alice shouted
'Alice no' I said. 'He's with Sophia, that will be awkward for you' I quickly added.
'It's fine I'm way over that' she laughed.
He looked around the outside tables, and stopped when he saw us. He saw me. I felt awkward. Why couldn't Cam call me now so I could walk away from this table!!
He waved and walked over, bringing Sophia with him.
My heart stopped beating.
'Hey girls' he looked at me and nodded.
'Hey, what you doing here?' Alice said
'Sophia fancied a holiday. We go home tomorrow we've been here two weeks. What about you lot?'
Sophia smiled but I could tell it wasn't a real smile.
'Its Cassie's birthday, and we didn't to come away for it. We leave on Saturday' Emily said.
He looked at me, he looked right into my eyes.
'Happy birthday Cas' he continued to look at me.
I broke eye contact 'thank you'
Alice coughed 'so Sophia, how did you manage to win Jack's heart?'
She giggled 'it was easy really. He's a sucker for blondes'
I wasn't blonde and he still wanted me. Bitch.
'We met in Rome about a year ago, and we went on a couple of dates and the rest is history.' She hugged his arm 'how do you all know Jack?'
'I'm his ex' Alice said. Awkward 'and these are my best friends. Cassie, Emily and jenny. Jack met Cassie when we were together'
I looked at Jack. He was looking at me. I smiled. He didn't smile. He just looked.
Sophia cleared her throat. 'Jack we have a table booked. We should go' she started pulling him away.
'Yeah sorry. See you later girls. Enjoy the rest of your holiday'
He walked away.
'What was that?' Alice said to me 'why was he staring at you?'
