Busan Private School was a school like the others. Good teachers who taught students that later excelled in life, big and sufficient space for the student to be themselves. But there was one thing about Busan private School that was attractive. All the elites went there. The school was known to raise successful students, these students themselves sending their offspring there.
The politicians, the business men, the artists, you name it.This story is about Lee Ji-a or just Jia. She loved the states and her parents but they, on the other hand didn't love themselves. That's why 17 year old Jia had to follow her father back to South Korea leaving her mother in the states. She had been to Korea maybe once or twice to visit her grandparents but she hadn't really lived there. She wondered if she'd be happy. She never understood why her mother didn't really fight to keep her with her. After the divorce her mother walked away with almost half of her father's fortune and hard earned money. Was that all she wanted?
But nonetheless, she was still allowed to go to the states for holidays. The thing was that she couldn't even wait to go back and see her friends and everyone she loved. Her father was a rich businessman if you didn't know and he was the proud CEO of Lee Electronics and Motors a company that he and his father built from the ground up.
Being the only child she felt all the pressure to carry on the family legacy and reach new heights that her predecessors never could reach. This brings her to now, sitting in her room studying as she was to start school in Busan High the next day. She knew coming during the last semester wouldn't be easy for her. Once the clock struck 7pm she closed up her books and headed to the bathroom to have a shower. She made sure to tie up her hair so it doesn't get wet. She didn't have the time to comb and untangle it this evening.
Once she had shaved and done everything that needed to be done, she got dressed in her sweatpants and T-shirt and went downstairs. Once she got to the grandiose living room she found her father sitting down watching the news as he worked on the computer.
"Jia. Your school uniform arrived. You should find it on the table over there" her father said not bothering to point to where he was talking about, he knew she knew.
She walks towards the said table and found clothes wrapped inside of a transparent wrap kept inside a paper bag. She picked it up and went up to her room. She went in and eagerly opened them. She found about two sets of the same uniform. A white button up t-shirt one long sleeved and the other short sleeved. There was two plaid skirts but she noticed it looked short. She decided to test it out and be sure that her eyes weren't playing tricks on her. She undressed and wore the skirt. She was indeed right. The school tailor must've misheard her and made her clothes a size too small. The same for the T-shirts. They weren't too small just a little tight but at least not too revealing. She found two red ties and a red suit blazer that went over the attire. The last clothes were her sports clothes. In Busan Private, you had a choice between a variety of sports like Football, Basketball, Tennis, Volleyball, Baseball and Track running.
Although she wasn't too athletic back in the US she loved sports that's why she chose Volleyball. Even her volleyball uniform which consisted of a white t-shirt with a red collar and a short black spandex turned out to be a little too small. She sighs and made a mental note to remind the principal tomorrow. She'd just have to manage this for now.
