Cry's P.O.V

It was 8:30am when I awoke from a sudden bell chime, someone was calling. Rolling over and managing to open my eyes just enough to reach across and get my phone, I was tempted to cancel but accepted it anyway. It was an unknown number, probably just a business trying to sell something. I had planned to listen to their pitch and then just say no thank you or simply hang up. But whatever I had in my mind wouldn't of prepared for what monstrous voice came from the other side of the line.

"Hello?" Came the familiar voice.
Shit...

"Hello? Is anyone there?" The voice came again.
HANG UP YOU FOOL!!

"Hmmp" The voice said and hung up.

I looked at the phone. I had started to think about what had just happened when my phone light up again with the same ringing. Realizing the beauty sleeping next to me, I quickly ran into the hall making my way from the bedroom. I was hesitant about accepting the call. After all these years, I wasn't prepared for this. Even if you gave me 10 years to souly think about this moment right now, I wouldnt know how to react or what to say and how to do it. I let the phone ring, hoping they'd give up. But I knew them, I knew they were VERY persistent and wouldn't give up. After the ringing died down, I made my way to the family room and collapsed on the couch. I let out a deep sigh. I knew they wouldnt give up, so I was expecting a call any minute now.

Minutes passed and my spirits had grown higher. Maybe they did give up, maybe they did change.

After more minutes of sitting in dead silence with just me and my thoughts, I decided to get up and maybe make some breakfast even thought im usually never up this early. I slumped my way into the kitchen, leaving my phone on the counter as i rummaged through my pantry.

Suddenly, my cell phone rang. Peering over i saw the bright screen with the same unknowns phone number. They had waited exactly 15 minutes to call me again, they obviously wanted something. I accepted the phone call and listened.

"Hello?" The voice from before answered.

".....Hi" I said in a soft whisper.

"OH HONEY! IM SO GLAD TO HEAR FROM YOU!! I HAVENT TALKED TO you in forever since you so rudely cut yourself out of the picture! How's it been?" They said.

"Well I-"

"Well nevermind that. You still live around Jacksonville, right? Im dying to see you! Meet me by that Starbucks we used to go to, mkay?"

"O-okay but I-"

"Oh good! Meet me there in 10 minutes im on my way there. Love you sweetie!"

"Sure thing-" The call ended, "Mom..."

I sat there with my phone by my ear, frozen in time.

'What is she going to say? How am I going to act?' I thought.'What will she think of ______? She's VERY old fashioned about relationships and I haven't proposed or anything to ______ and we sleep in the same bed! She doesnt need to know that though. And yeah her and Dad did divorce 5 times but she always said 'We were together in the end.'

My mind raced a millions miles an hour as unrealistic scenarios popped in and out. I tired to calm myself by playing music and focusing on the road but that didnt work. Starbucks inched closer and closer and I didnt want to stop the car. ______ knows how i feel about my parents as well as I about hers, but she doesnt know im meeting my mother today.
