Renjun hesitantly knocked on the door, his heart beating loudly internally only for him to hear. Pre-performing his words in his head, anxiety rising.
The door that stood before him creak opened, "Yes?" A voice rang suddenly, pulled Renjun back from his troubled mind. The man leaned on the door frame, crossing his arms over his chest. Qian Kun—his senior from the Mandarin department.
"Whatever it is, make it quick, I'm having a class right now." Kun told, slightly annoyed.
Gathering all the leftover confidence he have, "I apologize for being an asshole and pushing my duties on you." He said, finally. A numb expression sat on his senior face, was that not enough?
"Can I make it up to you? I'll treat you to lunch." Renjun suggested.
Kun's mouth curved into a forgiving smile, "Okay, I'll see you at lunch break." Ending their conversation in a clean and simple sentence, Kun returned to his classroom.
His shift ended, which was time for lunch break. Getting his wallet out of his bag, shoving it into the pant pocket.

Is an apology, stop dramatizing it.
Chill bestie.Renjun walked with his senior to a small restaurant near their workplace, western foods were served there with cheap prices. Could be because there was also a college nearby and most students are broke, having a place that sell good food at a cheap price is basically a steal.
"Steak on a tuesday? Really?" Renjun asked once he heard Kun's order.
Kun sassily responded, "In the end of the day is still going to turn into waste, what's the big deal about fancier foods anyway? And the meat here is quite delightful too."
As the younger one, Renjun was in charge of pouring water. Grabbing the heavy glass jug in his hands, he poured Kun's glass half full then the same to his as well.
Kun sipped his glass, "So... Are you seeing someone lately? You've been single since my first day as a Mandarin tutor, and you're the only one in the entire department that isn't in a relationship." Wow, Kun really called him out like that.
Is awkward to admit that Renjun has never been in a romantic relationship with anyone, he's so patiently waiting for his soulmate to come sweep him off his feet.
"I mean if you're saving yourself for your soulmate is fine, but you got to live a little." Kun added as he sensed the quietness from Renjun.
"I am technically seeing someone, well he's one of my students. We're not dating but...he is my soulmate." Renjun shared.
Kun smiled but soon turned into confusion, "That's an improvement. Wait—but aren't you both supposed to already foresee your future together and, you know, start something?"
From Kun's side, he did experienced fragments of his future with his soulmate and they instantly bonded and became a couple right when they met each other. Kun and his partner both received colored lavender flower tattoos.
Soulmates meeting each other would immediately drove into dating on the spot, this is most common among people. Soulmates taking times to then get with each other then start their intimate relationship is a bit more rare but yes. Maybe Renjun was simply apart of that group, totally natural.
"Have you gotten your tattoo yet?" Kun asked again. After meeting, either the tattoo would show up right when soulmates are face to face or the tattoo would take a couple days to show up, there are special cases though. Really depend on the couple themselves, if they're fast or slow.
"No, probably because we're not official." The waiter brought out their foods then left as soon as possible.
Renjun poked his dish, "How's your wife?" He started a new conversation with a new topic, ready to move on from the whole soulmates situation he's in.
Kun tilted his head, "She did got diagnosed with PPD a while back, she suspected that I was being unfaithful but we kind of worked it out in the end."
Kun continued, "She's paranoid about a lot of things, and it's getting a little difficult for her to leave the house for work or just anything that she have to do alone. She's probably still at home right now, I might call her later." Kun's expression dropped as he talked about his wife, she wasn't the most mentally stable person. However, he love her either way.
Renjun said, "I hope she get better soon."
"Thank you, I'll send your words to her." Kun smiled warmly.
