Chapter 10

Narrator POV

It was silent... Way too silent...
Techno and Tommy didn't speak a word through the whole night. They were only speaking if Techno wanted to know where certain books were. The reason for doing this was Techno not wanting to disturb the younger while Tommy not wanting to bug the older. So basically this was a huge misunderstanding. When dawn arrived they both took to their rooms, to get ready. Tommy went to his room and headed straight towards the bathroom. He got dressed and went to the dining hall where he saw his parents sitting waiting for him and Vanessa's family to arrive.

“Ah, Thomas have a seat. We are waiting for the others to arrive here.” said his mother.

And so he sat down on one of the chairs right opposite to them. Soon enough Vanessa's family along with her arrived, they sat down on the chairs and the food arrived. It was quite a basic breakfast, just pancakes along with maple syrup. It had blue berries on top of it along with strawberries, they are also accompanied with orange juice, some people would not see this as a high standard meal, but it didn't really bother the two families sitting on the table, they wanted to have some normal food once in a while. They all were just talking and eating when Vanessa suddenly spoke up.

“You know I wanted to tell you all, Madeline was here yesterday, and she wanted to speak to you Tom.” said Vanessa.
“Wait, why?” asked Tommy.
“Nothing serious, she just wanted to catch up.” said Vanessa.
“Oh, great. I was thought that she thought I did something wrong and then I started panicking.” said Tommy.
“No, no. You're fine.” said Vanessa while laughing a bit.
“So when do you wanna talk with her?” asked Vanessa.
“How about like in a week?” asked Tommy.
“Sure.” said Vanessa.
“Are parents also coming?” asked Melissa.
“Of course you would ask that.” said Vanessa sarcastically.
“Well to inform you they are.” said Vanessa.
“That's nice.” replied Melissa while taking a bite of her pancake.
“So, I assume you wouldn't be here for a long time.” said Tommy trying not to sound rude.
“No, unfortunately we will go back probably after a week.” said Sebastian.
“So how do plan on meeting Maddie's parents?” asked Vanessa.
“Oh, we already met them during your birthday party dear.” said Clarissa.
“Right.” replied Tommy.

Soon they finished their conversation and subsequently their breakfast. They went back to do their own thing. Tommy and Vanessa headed to the meeting room to discuss how the lease agreement was going on, since that was the primary reason for her visit. After being seated a servant brought in drinks and a few light snacks for the pair to enjoy while the meeting. There were men behind both Tommy and Vanessa, presumably they were the office workers mixed with bodyguards.

“So the lease.” started Vanessa.
“Yes, the issue has been resolved.” said Tommy while handing Vanessa a black leather binder containing the documents.
“Hm, how much is the amount of minimum years?” asked Vanessa.
“We decided to keep it a bit low, so it's like 4 years.” said Tommy.
“I suppose that's fine considering this is our first partnership.” said Vanessa.
“Well I guess the official matters have been taken care of, so now comes the more personal matters.” said Vanessa.
“Yeah, so what did you wanna talk about?” asked Tommy.
“You know the Jimmy guy? What's his name...uh the Mr. Beast guy.” said Vanessa.
“Yeah, what about him?” asked Tommy, he certainly was intrigued by Vanessa's sudden interest in YouTubers.
“Thought he could profit by collabing with us.” said Vanessa, completely relaxed.
“Uh, while I do think that is a great idea how will he exactly collab with us? I mean you guys own one of the best 5 star hotels in the world while we own one of the best jewelry shop brands in the world.” said Tommy.
“Well I thought he could do like one of his little challenges, you know like a hide and seek in one of our hotels for one of your pricey diamonds or jewels or something like that, I am not really a YouTube specialist and shit, so yeah. I just thought they'd gain more and revenue, viewers and sponsorships with two huge brand names like ours.” said Vanessa.
“Hm, well I guess we can have a meeting set up with Jimmy concerning this, I'll talk to him and see.” said Tommy.
“Nice.” said Vanessa.
“Now about you and Jacob.” said Tommy with a smirk on his face.

Vanessa's face immediately became red with both embarrassment and with a slight blush. She had a huge crush on Jacob ever since they were young, Tommy knew this and sometimes teased her with this information.

“S- Shut u- u- up.” Vanessa managed to stutter out while her embarrassment was taking over.
“Yeah, yeah whatever. So I guess Jacob will be coming with Maddie since they are siblings.” said Tommy.
“Well yeah.” replied Vanessa.
“Now then, you can finally confess to Jacob and be a happy couple, have kids or whatever, get married and I stop being your wingman.” said Tommy, in almost a mocking tone.
“No! We are not doing that!” said Vanessa.
“Why not??” whined Tommy, clearly teasing Vanessa.
“You're hopeless.” said Vanessa while getting up from the table and heading out.

Tommy soon ran after Vanessa, trying to persuade Vanessa to stay.
