Slim\\
The diner was a small studio at the beach that Stella bought and remodeled. It wasn't anything spectacular, but it was pretty comfortable and cozy.
It had that type of aura that reminded you of Grandma's house after church with homemade cookies and a nice southern breakfast. I enjoyed working there, even on my bad days.
Stella's Café was the type of place where you could just go and hang out and listen to poetry or something like that just because you had nothing else you wanted to do.
The co-workers here made work interesting. Most of them had very. . . colorful personalities. There was José, a fat guy who was our main chef. His food was the absolute best. There was Jenna, who was a lesbian waitress, and Daphne, who was a teen mom who just turned twenty two with a four year old son, Sean. They were pretty cool girls.
Then, we had Audrey and Aubrey, cousins who were always together. Aubrey was so innocent when it came to a lot of things. She didn't even know what sex felt like. Meanwhile, Audrey had to explain a lot of things to Aubrey and was overly experienced in the art of sex. I was too, and to be fair, Aubrey was missing out. Sex is good for the soul.
Of course, Brendon worked with me. He was the closest friend I had at Stella's Café.
Xavier and Chavez were always joking around. They were gay and in a relationship. I found them extremely adorable. Xavier was so protective over Chavez and Chavez was the sweetest little guy you'd ever meet. He was so innocent minded for the most part.
Stella was the best boss ever. She was always happy to help her customers and employees. Everybody loved her.
"Stop daydreaming, Princess." Sophie said, dropping a plate in front of me. Sophie was a bitch and nobody liked her.
"Stop dickriding, skank." I said, rolling my eyes. I noticed Daphne laughing quietly to herself as she bussed the tables near me.
Nobody liked Sophie, but Stella wouldn't fire her stepdaughter.
"What's so funny, Teen Mom?" Sophie snapped.
Daphne stopped snickering and rolled her eyes. She had hit a soft spot by calling Daphne out on that. She knew not to mention Daphne getting pregnant young.
"You want me to tell Stella you got syphilis or you gon' shut the fuck up." Daphne snapped back.
Daphne was a heavy set girl of African-American race. She had short dark hair and brown eyes. Daphne had a great personality and was really nice, but if you got on her bad side she could be a bitch. She was actually pretty funny when you were friends with her.
Sophie scoffed and walked away towards another table. She planted a fake ass smile on her face and asked the same old question as always.
"Hi, my name is Sophie and I'll be your waitress this evening. Could I start you off with some drinks?"
"Could I start you off with some drinks?" Jenna mocked in a childish voice. "Ugh, she's so fake."
"How is she fake, Jen?" Brendon asked, taking a bite of the rolls that were left on the counter.
"She's being nice to the customers and everybody knows she's a bitch. Like what the fuck?!" Jenna groaned, pointing towards Sophie. Nobody at the job liked Sophie, and Stella was too blind to see how much of a bitch her stepdaughter really was.
"You do realize that the nicer you are to the customers, the higher the tip is, right?" Audrey laughed.
"Yeah, but still. She gets higher tips than either of us. She ain't even all that." Jenna scoffed.
