Wait, I Died?!

A blinding light flashes my eyes and I feel minor pain across my chest and abdomen.

I groan as I feel like a giant had stepped on me and left me to die.

I rub my fist over my eyes but stop when I feel my hands tug on something and notice wires and tubes attached to me.

I become aware of my surroundings and look around  confused but I'm met with an empty hospital room.

Why the hell am I in the hospital?!!

I tug at the wires on my hand and pull them off and stand up frantically but end up falling over in pain.

The heart monitor beeps a flat noise and the door suddenly bursts open causing me to yelp and crawl into the corner of the wall.

Footsteps walk to the side of the hospital bed and my body immediately relaxes when I come face to face with Leo.

My eyes water happy to see a face a recognize and wanting to get out of here. I hate hospitals and they only bring me back bad memories.

He walks towards me and picks me up and I wrap my arms around him and start crying and say, "I don't want to be here take me home please, why am I here?!"

I cry harder and he holds me to his body and says, "Shhh it's okay bambina, breathe for me baby."

I listen to him and breathe in and out slowly starting to calm down.

I look him in the eye to see his eyes watery just like mine.

I sniff from my nose getting clogged from crying and ask, "Why are you crying Leo?"

He lets out an airy chuckle and says, "I'm not crying baby."

I wrap my arms around his neck and say, "You looked like you were going to."

He sighs and puts his head in the nape of my neck and gives me a soft kiss and says, "I almost lost you baby."

I lift my head up confused but immediately my thoughts came crashing back at once from making dinner with Leo, to Isaac coming, then arguing, and then me saving Leo.

I gasp and say, "I got shot."

His demeanor suddenly changes and he says, "Yes you did, you should have never done that, it was meant for me."

I look at him incredulously and smack my lips and flick his forehead.

He snaps his head up immediately and asks, "What was that for?!"

I cross my arms and say, "For saying something so dumb! Of course I'd jump a bullet for you asshole!"

I smile up at him and say, "Even the bad guys deserved to be saved sometimes."

He glared at me but I smile harder at him causing him to laugh.

I'm drawn away from Leo when I hear a click noise.

I look behind him and see a pale man with tattoos leaning against the hospital door lighting a cigarette in his mouth.

I look at him confused and ask Leo, "Do I know this man or did the bullet cause memory loss?"

He shakes his head no and stands up and says, "This is Raoul bambina. He is my best friend."

The guys Raoul exhales from his cigarette and lights out and walks towards me and smiles and says, "Bonjour beauté, nice to meet you, I'm the Chef d'État de la mafia française."
