"Christmas is soon." He whispers, hands around my waist as I sit on his lap.

I hum.

"I know," I tell him softly. He places a kiss on my cheek.

"What are you doing that day?" He asks and I shrug.

"My mom will be visiting my aunts. I will probably be in my apartment. You?" He sighs.

"I'll be lonely. I'm going to leave Olivia at the airport tomorrow so that she spends the rest of the Christmas break with Aunt Carol." He whispers before looking down at me.

"Do you want to come over?" He asks and I nod.

"Sure. Why not?" I whisper and he chuckles. Pulling me into a kiss.

Some things have changed between us. I noticed that he stopped smoking, at times you might find him outside of the house with a cigarette in his mouth. But it isn't as constant as he did it before.

I was open to him, vulnerable. I told him all my secrets and he told me all of his. His memories. The good ones and bad ones. I loved spending time with him. Spending hours and hours on the bed- in his arms. Letting him hold, hold me like his everything.

I like to waste time with him. Make the days feel long.

The handles on the clock in the apartment may go at the same pace as the ones outside of it, yet the time goes fast. I don't want to ever run out of time when I am with him.

I hope.

"Madrid?" He asks and I nod, toying with my fingers.

"Yeah, I've always wanted to go there," I tell him. He bites his lip.

"Well let's go then." I stop and I turn to look at him, my brows raised.

"What do mean by let's go then?" I ask him and he moves his head around.

"I mean, that we should go to Madrid. Christmas is in three days. Tomorrow I'll spend the day with Olivia. Tell her that I'm going there with you, I'll buy the tickets and since the flights are always full but I think that I'll be able to book us a flight for the 24th so that we'll be in Madrid in the morning. Yeah?" I look at him, biting my lips and I look upwards.

Why if the plane crashes? What if something happens? What if there is an engine problem?

He grabs my chin and he makes me look at him.

"Don't worry." He whispers. "Everything is going to be fine." He whispers.

I stare at him and I quietly look out of the window of his room.

"Promise me please." He sticks out his pinky and I do too. Going to go kiss my hand.

I love you. So so much.

"I promise. Now let me go to the office upstairs, I need to go get my laptop so that we look over the flights yeah?" I nod and he goes to get his laptop, I stay there sitting in silence.

It's after a few minutes that a smile forms on my lips.

We are going to Madrid. Finally, after years of dreaming to go, I'll go. And with him.

I watch out of the window as the snow falls, biting my lip as I think about the plane. That fucking plane, what if something happens? What if I lose him? What if there is something bad that's going to happen.

I hope nothing happens.

I do.

I hope nothing happens.
