James and I moved to our apartment last Friday, and we've been to the highline six times since then. To kiss in cars and downtown bars was all we needed before suddenly we were happier than ever. He turned 18 yesterday so we signed up for couple's counseling. He really put me through it but I think we'll be alright after all.

-One year later-

"BETTY WAKE UP!" James screamed.

"What, what? I'm up. Am I late for something?" I ask frantically.

"I GOT IN TO NEW YORK UNIVERSITY, WE'RE GOING TO COLLEGE TOGETHER."

I started crying, and he held me. "I'm so proud of you James, truly. You've come so far."

"We've come so far. I couldn't have done it without your help all those nights studying until the sun came up." He said with the biggest smile. You could tell he really meant that.

"Yeah." I said. "We've come so far. You definitely owe me for saving your education so you don't end up a hobo." I giggled and he tackled me. We both laughed and then he kissed my forehead.

"Thank you for saving me from being some hobo living behind the mall. That wouldn't be the life for me and I'm glad you believed in me."

"You're welcome." I said, before pausing. I stared into his eyes that were swirling with love. "Thank you for coming back to me." I said, bringing it up for the first time in months.

He leaned down and kissed me, seemingly not getting upset at all. "Let's go have breakfast, I'm starving." He said as he got up and started to leave the room. He paused, and turned around. Just staring at me for a moment. "I'll always choose you. Every day, for the rest of my life."
