Y/N's POV.

I sighed deeply running a hand over my face. Looking over to a clock on my desk I saw that it was already 11pm.

"Shit." I mumbled under my breath. I had made plans with Bria for us to go out and do something together today.

I groaned leaning back on the chair. Just as I did that, my phone rang. I answered immediately when I saw who it was.

"Daddy!"

"Bria bear. What are you still doing up?" I asked with raised eyebrows. She must've snuck her iPad back out because it is way past her bed time.

She pouted. "Cause daddy, you never came back home. I missed you."

I sighed and gave her a small smile. "Aw I'm so sorry baby. I know, daddy just got caught up with work but I promise I'll be home soon."

Bria nodded slowly and I noticed her eyes began to close. "Ok daddy. I will wait for you."

I chuckled lightly. "You don't need to do that babygirl. But I promise I will make today up to you, ok."

"We'll have fun, just us?"

"Yes baby, just us. And we will have the best time ever. Now you young lady need to get to bed." I said sternly.

She went to argue but next thing I knew she just rolled over on her side and buried herself in her pile of pillows. "Night daddy, hurry back."

I smiled and blew her a kiss. "Goodnight sweetheart. I love you and I will."

It didn't take long before I could hear her little snores through my phone. So I ended the call to let her rest.

That girl is really something else.

I laughed to myself at the thought of my daughter. Right after I went back to looking over the papers from my earlier meeting with Dalton.

Yeah still don't understand how that even happened. But it's whatever. Maybe it's not, I'm just trying not to let it get to me. Because he was being a dick the whole time.

He was questioning me about 'how I suddenly got so rich' for one as if it is any of his damn business.

I don't know, just- something about him that I don't like. Well besides the obvious reason.

But I looked him up once he left and apparently he's a good ass real estate agent and that's what I need at the moment.

I decided to just stop thinking about him and that whole situation right now anyway. I have no more ties with Ariana and we haven't spoken since she left me for him. So I'll just let the past be the past.

There was a small knock on my door making me pause my movements and look up.

"Come in?" I said kinda confused. Only cause I thought I was the only person here.

Janice walked in with a smile on her face and a stack of papers in her hands.

"What's up Janice?"

She just stood there staring at me but not saying a word.

"Umm is there somethin' I can do for you Janice?" I smiled nicely at her.

"Oh uh yes sorry Y/N. I-I was just brining in those papers that you needed from the meeting earlier. They're all signed and everything."

I nodded slowly taking the papers from her hands. "Thank you. But what are you doing here, you should be at home?"

She just shrugged. "Well there was more work that needed to be done so I decided to stay and just get it all done."

"Oh wow. Ok, well I really appreciate you for this but get home to your family now Janice I can take it from here."

It looked like she wanted to say something I could tell by the look on her face.

I turned my head at her. "Everything ok?"

She nodded and began to play with her fingers. "Umm yes sir, everything is fine. B-but if you don't mind I would like to stay here and help."

"Oh. Ok, if you're sure that's up to Janice."

Smiling she took a seat in a chair in front of me. "Then let's get to work."

"Let's get to work." I smiled as I began to go through my laptop.
