So who's that guy who's always coming to see you dance," asked Amora after their shift was over, "He's cute."
"That's Gerard. He's a friend."
"Just a friend or are you guys together?"
Madison thought briefly. "I don't know. It's kind of weird honestly. Why?"
She shrugged. "I don't know I guess I was hoping that maybe you could introduce us? It's really hard to meet nice guys."
"I would but I don't know I think it might be weird. Especially since he just kind of blackmailed me into going on a date with him."
"Huh?"
"It's a long story," Madison chuckled, "But I'll tell you what after we go on our date the next time he comes I'll introduce you. Maybe by then I'll have us figured out."
"What's to figure out? Don't you like him?"
Maddy thought. "Do you know someplace where we can get some coffee at this hour, I want to tell you something."
"Sure." Amora sounded cheerful but she looked apprehensive.
They walked to a deserted old-fashioned diner down the street and settled into a booth ordering coffee and belgian waffles.
"Here you go ladies," said their waitress Carol as she poured their coffee, "Your waffles should be up in no time."
"Thank," Amora smiled, "So what's up?"
Madison took a sip of her coffee letting its warmth comfort her as it slid down her throat. "Can I trust you to keep a secret? I mean it's not really a secret but I try not to tell people if it's not absolutely necessary."
This preface caused Amora to pause mid-sip. She put down her mug and tried to tuck one of her curls behind her ear but it only bounce back out. "You can tell me anything Madison. I promise I won't say anything."
Madison took a deep breath and started at the beginning regaling Amora of her tale of forgotten pasts and new found friends.
"Wow I never would have known any of that about you," said Amora taking it in, "You seem pretty put together."
"Thanks I try," Maddy smiled weakly, "Anway, I just felt like I should tell you because sometimes seemingly simple questions are hard for me to answer. Like when you asked if I like Gerard. I have no idea. Sometimes new emotions take me a while to figure out because it's like I've never experienced them before. Besides, even if I did like Gerard, I don't know if it would be a good thing for me to do right now you know?"
Amora nodded. "I understand. And you're probably right it may not be a good idea."
"You're just saying that so you'll have a chance with him."
Amora laughed. "Yeah that too. But on the otherhand it might be a good thing for you to have that. It might help you."
"I don't know. I think I'm going to just let it play out and see what happens."
"I think that's a good plan."
"It's really late we should probably get going."
"Agreed I'm exhausted. I can't wait to just fall into bed. After I shower off the strip club smell of course."
So Keymore since it seems to just be you and me how about we get to know each other? What's your name? I'm Cheyenne. I went on your profile the other day for the first time I didn't even realize that you write as well and your stories seem to be well received. Hopefully if I get some time I can check it out.
