shared a moment worth's memories
called each other our little confidants
had a good laughter on my low points
and we never cared about our breached distances. But,
on a rainy day
the day on which you were born
you notice the heavy downfall
but you stayed nonchalantyou put your new green gown,
asked granny to make your hair nice,
"i have a party", you said,
and i've invited my friends down here"you walk around the scene
you prepped everything with a gleam
eyes sparkling, with a bright shine
"oh, what a beautiful scene!".tick...tock.... and the hours pass away
but no one showed up neither called the least
"what if they've forgotten?"
you brush your thoughts aside as you wait...no one showed up, neither a call
and there you go all insane,
you'd rather still believe and say,
"I want to invite them again, in person".you take an umbrella,
and you chase after your friends
all wet but hopeful, and in their houses you say,
"are you coming?"you walk back in the heavy rain,
mud stains over the green gown,
all sogged up,
and here you were back again.you sit in silence,
black clouds hovering outside,
you change into your pj's
and cut the cake alone.
"happy birthday to me..." you say,
and that's what happened,
when they never showed up, again.P.s: Based on a true story (probably mine) 😌
