16. a statue

13 5 4

frozen in time,
I'm a silhouette,
once remembered by all
and now by some

dust collected over my shoulders,
still paralyzed,
hands reaching out into the oblivion
tried to pose, and now it's immortal

people come and go,
some stay and stare
gaze over the scars of time,
that lie around my body

back in time,
when i was little,
i could loosen up the tightness around my neck

current time,
i gave into what nature holds,
stood against some years
stood over a pedestal

young kids come up with stories,
they say "she was a crooked young woman,
nobody wanted her, this where she ended up"
i laugh, but they can't hear

creative stories around me,
good old chats and photographs,
no one knows anyone until they're nothing themselves.
