— Chapter Twenty Four —
It all went well so far. They returned to the dorms, staying at each other's side until it was Donghyuck's turn to leave the elevator. Sadly a sasaeng was waiting outside, meaning that Donghyuck couldn't kiss his newly official boyfriend goodbye but he squeezed Mark's hand tightly, whispering "I'll see you at dinner tonight?"
Mark hummed, squeezing Donghyuck's hand back before finally letting go. Donghyuck stepped out of the elevator, waving Mark goodbye before turning on his heels and walking to the dorm. He could hear the sasaeng squealing and he really wanted to yell at her but he knew their neighbours would complain if he did. So he just ignored the young woman, his mind not even bothered with her existence as it was still dwelling on the fact that Mark was now his boyfriend.
He opened the door, quickly entering. The room was empty, completely normal considering that everyone had things to do or was occupying themselves in their own rooms. Donghyuck was grateful for the peace, needing a little bit of time to process everything.
Mark was his boyfriend. Officially. And Donghyuck loved it. He checked his phone, replying to Mark who had asked for permission to tell Johnny. Donghyuck told him that of course he could and then turned his phone off again. He sat down in his gaming chair, staring at the black screen. He could faintly see his own reaction, his own flushed cheeks and bright eyes from which even a stranger could tell how happy he was.
He didn't even bother to hide it and neither did Mark. It was obvious to at least the Dream members who were constantly exchanging looks whenever Donghyuck giggled at something Mark said or Mark (not so) subtly grabbed Donghyuck's thigh. They didn't comment though which Donghyuck was grateful for. He wasn't yet ready to speak out the obvious, wanting to hide for a little longer before having to endure all the teasing that would go along with him and Mark exposing their relationship.
He knew none of the members were homophobic, hell some of them were probably not even straight themselves. But just like with Johnny it took time and courage to overcome the barrier that Korea's conservative ideology had inserted in their brains.
Donghyuck got to gaming, feeling so high on serotonin that he carried his, Jeno's and Chenle's team effortlessly. The other two were obviously happy about that but still asked if he had used any cheats because he usually wasn't this good.
"No cheats, just love." Donghyuck told them in an aegyo voice that had Chenle fake-gagging.
"Please stop, hyung!" the chinese boy said but Donghyuck continued to do the high-pitched cutesy voice throughout the rest of the game.
Later at dinner, Donghyuck finally got to see Mark again. It had barely been a few hours since their practice but Donghyuck immediately fell into Mark's arms when he saw the man. It earned them some snickering from the others but Donghyuck didn't care.
"Hey baby." Mark whispered, so quietly that no one else would hear. Donghyuck's stomach did somersaults at the petname. Mark would probably call him that a lot more often from now on and Donghyuck would absolutely not complain about it.
"Hi Milk." Donghyuck greeted him, his tone playful as he teased Mark with the nickname. The older just sighed, smiling down at Donghyuck before the two heard the clearing of a throat.
"We're also here, hyung." Jeno stated, his eyebrows disappearing under his messy hair as he gave both Donghyuck and Mark a look.
