His name is Park Jimin.

The only heir to the throne of a long line of vampires, or monsters, as she preferred to call them.

A family that spanned decades of existence. A bloodline as ancient as time itself.

She learns that for him to ascend the throne, his parents would have to be disposed of.

What she wished she hadn't known was that he did indeed rid the throne of his parents.

He was temperamental.

He would come into the room he had prepared for her, every day, and sit by the bedside, slip his ice-cold hand into hers and stare at her with that look she despised so much.

He'd talk continuously about himself, his life, and most of all, how much he loved her.

Something that had her recoiling in disgust, for love was free, unassuming, and well, love.

When he described his "love", it was more of an innate need to possess, to have what he wanted regardless of the circumstances.

When all his attempts to coerce her to speak failed, it's his anger that shows his true nature.

And when his anger had simmered off, leaving behind a trail of blood-soaked sheets from where he had forcefully bit her neck despite her screaming and begging of mercy, she's left alone.

Left, to stare up the ceiling, feeling as her skin re-stitched itself together and the cycle repeats.

Escaping was the first thing that had crossed her mind when she woke alone and found herself no longer in that forest, covered in dirt and blood. Her last memory is of the moon peering down at her in sorrow.

She looked about for any possible escape route. It surprised her that he would allow her to wander the castle despite knowing her distaste for it. It baffled her, even more, when she noticed how empty the corridors were, free of anyone that could stop her.

So without a second thought, she shoves open the mahogany doors of the castle and runs out into the cold night.

Except it's not cold at all, and she can see her breath fogging up before her. And yet, as she ran barefoot into the woods, her white dress flowing behind her and hair tousled in messy curls, she feels nothing.

She doesn't make it far.

The woods are endless and, she would later learn that the nearest village was miles from where she was. All along, she had been circling a maze built for prey such as herself in those woods.

He finds her alone and crying, reaches a hand out to her, ridiculously hoping for some form of acceptance. When she rejects him, screaming profanities and hatred, his eyes bleed red and her body goes limp falling into darkness.

After waking from yet another failed escape attempt, she slowly begins to understand. She was now the thing she despised so much. The thing that took her parents from her, took her life.

A monster.

He never lets her forget it, taunts her repeatedly.

Reminds her that she belonged to him for all of eternity.

As time passed and seasons went by in flurries of white winters and sweltering summers, her body not once aging nor tiring, she finds her attempts at running away dwindling.

A silent resignation overtaking her as she remained rooted in place, standing upon the large balcony that overlooked the woods.

She no longer cried, merely watched as life moved on.

Jimin watched over her like a shadow looming behind her, seemingly content with just having her there, as empty as she was.

It sickened her, every time the hunger kicked it, burning, scratching at her throat. It drove her mad seeing his lips curve into a smile of satisfaction as he dangled his blood before her very eyes.

She wished, prayed, begged for an end as she's forced to drink from him, pulled into a drunken daze of his intoxicating blood.

She hears him enter the room, a swift movement as he slips inside and closes the door. Trying her best to lie still her breath hitches when she feels the other end of the bed dip as his weight pressed down upon it. She keeps her eyes closed hoping he believed her to be asleep.

She can feel him inching closer to her and it takes all of her remaining will to not throw herself from the bed and onto the floor.

He's close, she can feel his breath against her skin, she knows he's staring at her, the one thing she hated most.

He sighs, one that sounds like resignation before she feels his hand caressing her cheek gently. Holding back a shudder she scrunches her nose in mock fatigue and attempts to turn away. This only prompts him to move closer until she can smell his scent, a strong mix of vanilla and sandalwood.

He nuzzles into her neck and she does shudder this time, disgust pulling at her insides. He pulls her body close to his and plays with her hair as he inhales her scent deeply.

He places a soft kiss upon her jawline, she can feel his eyelashes brushing against her skin and it tickles.

He nuzzles back into her neck, letting his lips rest there as they part to speak.

"You will feel what I do, even if it takes lifetimes, you will understand all that I do, I do out of pure love for you my dearest Ye Rin. You will love me too" he mumbles.

Hearing this only makes her heart sink, her throat burns as her eyes blur from the tears that threaten to fall. Giving up, she lets them fall, sliding down her cheek as they land upon his own face. Her body trembles as she cries and he merely tightens his hold on her body.

"You can't leave me, I won't let you".
