Jimin had always found winter to be beautiful.
Taehyung had always complained of the snow coming and ruining the beauty of summer, killing all the flowers and trees leaving nothing for him to admire.
He's wrong, he thinks, watching snowflakes glittering as they danced across the sky in flurries of white.
They land upon his face instantly melting as the water droplet slips down his face.
Winter was just as beautiful as summer.
For the white that had fallen over the town like a large blanket had a notion of purity to it. For nothing could taint such a pure, delicate creation such as this.
It reminds him of her.
Her soft eyes, wide with wonder.
Her white nightgown flowing with the breeze
Her scent, sweet and floral, how he missed it dearly.
Glancing around at his surroundings he finds himself lost. Like a child stumbling as they struggled to take their first step. The world had changed significantly around him and he doesn't quite think he'll ever get used to it.
For the time he knew, the past, was now considered history.
He's able to locate his family's records and finds his name scribbled sloppily in ink marked "missing".
He scoffs at that, they're right, he'd missed so much.
The people who had freed him from the confines of that coffin were archaeologists, digging to find anything valuable and not expecting to find a living being.
Their deaths weren't a total loss, seeing as he was able to recuperate thanks to them.
In a strange sort of dream-like state, he watches as life before him moved on.
Here and there he'd hunt for his meals, something rather humiliating considering all his meals would come to him back then, but finds it's much more difficult as disposing of a body was no longer that simple.
People these days searched fervently for their lost ones and he would have to take extra precaution to cover his tracks.
He wonders how she managed to fair in such a changing world.
How did she eat? Where did she stay? Was she alone?
The last thought leaves him in burning agony at the thought of her with someone.
It would be impossible for her to be with anyone seeing as no one could remain by her side for eternity, that is unless she grants it to them. Shaking his head he brushes the thought away, he knew her too well, she was soft, too weak-hearted to take a person's life like that.
But when it came to your life, she looked anything but soft-hearted. The voice in the back of his head reminds him. Brushing the thought aside he reminds himself, she could have killed him yet she chose not to for somewhere deep inside her, he's sure there is a drop of affection for him.

It takes him two years.
Two pain-staking years to find her.
She had hidden well and changed towns multiple times in the past decades.
After hiring a P.I to locate her and killing the man after acquiring the information he needed, he had taken to living in the man's house. Wearing his clothes, taking unsuspected victims there where he'd bury the bodies in the backyard.
He had visited the town, a quaint little place he despised instantly, snooping about until he found what he was looking for.
His heart thrums in his chest and the world seems to slow down as she stands across the street clad in a long black dress with thick winter boots, her once long hair now chopped off as it rested just above her shoulders.
He wants so much the feel the softness of her skin against him, wants to bury his face into her neck and sink his teeth into her.
How I've missed you, my dearest Ye Rin
It's with great control he manages to pull himself together before taking a step towards her.
His heart is beating erratically as her face breaks into a smile at something the person before he says.
I told you, you would always be mine
He hasn't even made it across the street when suddenly her attention is pulled and she turns around excitedly.
She smiling oh so lovingly, her eyes are bright with joy.
He wants to gather her in his arms and never let go.
The sight of a man enveloping her in a hug stops him dead in his tracks.
His heart sinks as she burrows her face into his neck, laughter ringing like a melody as the man places a soft kiss on her forehead.
His throat constricts painfully as he watches them pull apart,
She leans in,
His chest is burning with rage,
Her eyes close,
His eyes are clouded with what he realizes are tears as he blinks them away rapidly.
She kisses him softly, wrapping her arms around his neck as she pulls him close.
The tears are slipping past his eyes as his hands tremble with uncontained rage.
Shakily he inhales backing away from them, utter betrayal gnawing away at his insides.
For centuries, she could never love him.
He had given her everything and still, she refused him.
And now here she was, choosing this human whose life meant nothing, over him.
His heart shatters as he falls to the floor in heaps of tears and anger.
His eyes are burning red at the image of them together.
Perhaps she didn't really love that man he reasons with himself.
Perhaps she was tricked, the way Taehyung had tricked her into believing she loved him as well.
He nods to himself, wiping his tears as he sits alone in the woods cradling a broken heart.
All he needed to do was get rid of that man and then she would realize that he was better for her.
Throwing his head back he laughs, and even as he did, the snow continued to fall leaving little droplet of water to slide down his face.
🌙
His name is Kim Namjoon.
Born in 1995, he scoffs, this man was too young for her.
He works in a book shop, Flowers and Moonlight, she works there as well he learns from following them for a month straight.
"Kim Namjoon" he repeats the name watching from outside the shop window as their figures move about once in a while giving each other sickeningly sweet smiles.
He would not allow this man to take what belonged to him.

"Namjoon is it? Thank you for your help! I'll see you next week" he grins not waiting for a reply as he leaves the shop, anticipation bubbling in his chest.
