Frodo, Sam and I all walk out of the Green Dragon bidding goodbye to Rosy
We stay silent as we continue walking home. We say bye to Sam as we reach bag end. Frodo and i walk up the stairs to the door side by side. as we reach the door it is unlocked which is extremely uncommon for Frodo he always locks the door
He grabs my hand as we both slowly walk in looking around. The only sign of movement are the papers flying around.
As we continue through the house a large hand is placed on both our shoulders. We both gasp and turn around to see none other than Gandalf.
"Is it secret, is it safe?" he questions frantically
Frodo opens the chest he put the envelope in searching for it as i pour Gandalf some tea
Frodo pulls out the envelope and Gandalf snatches it from his hand throwing it into the fire
"What are you doing" Frodo questions
i sit down at the table watching Gandalf carefully
Gandalf pulls the ring out of the fire and holds it towards Frodo "Hold out your hand Frodo, its quite cool" He reassures.
Frodo holds out his hand as Gandalf drops it
"what can you see, anything?" he asks getting up
"Nothing, theres nothing" Frodo says still looking at the ring. Gandalf looks relived "wait, there are markings" i get up and walk beside him "some form of elvish, i cant read it" he says looking at Gandalf
"There are few who can, the language is that of Mordor which i will not utter here" he says slowly turning to face us
"Mordor" i say surprised
"in the common tongue it reads one ring to rule them all one ring to find them one ring to bring them into the darkness which binds them" He says
Frodo places the ring on the table and Gandalf sits across from us studying the ring "this is the one ring, forged by the dark lord sauron in the fires of Mount Doom taken by Esidor from the hand of Sauron himself" he says
"Bilbo found it" Frodo whispers "in Gollums cave"
"60 years the ring lay quiet in Bilbo's keeping prolonging his life delaying old age. But along dear Frodo evil is stirring in Mordor the ring has awoken to its masters call" Gandalf explains
"But he was destroyed? Sauron was destroyed" I says
The ring makes a sound and we all look at it
"No (y/n) the spirit of Sauron endured by forces bound to the ring Sauron has returned out for blood Sauron only needs this ring to cover the land in darkness he's seeking it. Frodo they must never find it" Gandalf says
Frodo grabs the ring "Alright, we put it away we keep it hidden,we never speak of it again, no one knows it here do they?" Frodo asks. Gandalf stays quiet i turn around
"Do they Gandalf" i question
"There is one other who knew that Bilbo had the ring, i looked everywhere for the creature Gollum but the enemy got to him first" He replys "I dont know how long they tortured him but the distance screaming babble was two words 'Shire, Baggins" he says looking down
"Shire?!" i say
"Baggins, that would lead them here" Frodo says worriedly "take it Gandalf, take it" he yells
"no Frodo" Gandalf says backing away
"You must take it" he says
"you cannot offer me this ring" Gandalf says
"Im giving it to you" Frodo says frantically
"Dont tempt me Frodo!" Gandalf yells "I dare not take it understand Frodo I would use this ring for the desire to do good but through me it would wield a power to great to imagine"
"But it cannot stay in the Shire" I finally speak
"No! It cant" Gandalf says calmly
"What must we do" Frodo questions
"you must leave and quickly" Gandalf explains and Frodo and i get out stuff together
"Where,where do we go" Frodo asks shoving stuff in his bag
They continue talking as we get our stuff together
"Hobbits really are amazing creatures" Gandalf says smiling at us then there is a noise outside "Get down" Gandalf says and we drop to the floor "Samwise Gamgee have you been eavesdropping again!!" Gandalf yells and Frodo and I stand up
"I aint droppin no eaves sir promise i was just trimming the grass under that window there you follow me " He says
"its a little late to be trimming the verns dont you think" Gandalf says sternly
"I heard raised voices" Sam reply
"What did you hear, SPEAK!" Gandalf shouts
"Nothin important i just heard a great deal about a dark lord and a ring and the end of the world Mr Gandalf sit don't hurt me don't turn me into anything unnatural" He says scared
"no" Gandalf says looking at me and Frodo "perhaps not I have a better plan for you"
